Guys, my friend from Ipay88 just forward me his invitation meeting mentioning "ApplePay Integration stand-up Meeting". It means that the Apple Pay will and definitely be coming very soon to our country! Sorry I can't disclose any details or the picture that he snap as it was meant for Internal communication only.

good news! But integration dont mean available yet. Ipay is merchant, not all bank will participate as we need to link with Bank CC

True, which also mean they will accept Apple Pay, and Apple Pay binds to cards, cards need settlements, settlements require banks, let’s see who will be the one to support ipay88

Interesting news, especially coming from iPay88 as they are a payment gateway and if I am not mistaken, I don't see them being in the POS/Merchant terminal business (selling the device for physical merchants). I know Apple Pay is one of the online methods of payment and perhaps this is referring to that?

Yeah you are right Mavik, iPay88 is a payment gateway. So when you purchase something on a website, merchant would use payment gateways such as iPay88 to process the transaction, so you can use online banking, credit/debit card, ewallet and etc. Even though everyone here talks about the physical NFC payment of Apple Pay, it is also works as online payment method. Just wondering which bank/financial institution would support Apple Pay first.

Hey bro, you are correct. After I asked my friend what exactly the meeting is all about, he said that they are doing internal demo on "Online" Apple Pay. Not involving the typical NFC kind-a type (Merchant Credit Card Terminal) and they gone thru via website using some sort of API..

Have your friend mention any estimate launch date?

Its going to be interesting with that payment because if you watched the latest WWDC, the pay with Apple Pay on any device online using the iPhone would be an interesting area for iPay88 to look at.

If only ipay88's discuss online Apple pay, does it mean that Malaysia still does not open the Apple pay service, but only has the offer Apple pay option for foreigners to use?😮‍💨

Google Pay can't use NFC also but yes for online payment with Malaysia card

Actually the service is available here in Malaysia, just whether the local banks and POS terminal providers want to participate only. For example, Singaporeans can come here and pay with Apple pay on their iPhone at any of the local POS terminals (which uses the NFC functionality)

so still need to see the will of bnm and the bank. I saw that the tiger had this plan before, but it has not been officially announced yet.😮‍💨
