i'll be investing on the MG Strike Noir smile.gif.......i got 2 MG's now but none of them are painted, only lining is done.....how much would the painting resource for a cerain model cost, lets sat MG Freedom.
*
that would depend on how you'll be painting ur gundams.
1) hand paint/airbrush/marker?
2) type of paint? lacquer/enamel/acrylic?
3) do u want to paint the internal frame too?
4) what level of detail do u want?

hand painting does use less paint but it requires skills to paint.. if the mixture is not right, u get brush strokes on ur models..
for handpaint u need to add a few drops of mr. retarder mild to ur paint and of cos u need to add thinner too..
airbrush sprays paint on unwanted surfaces too hence more paint required.. but no brush stroke problem except for some water droplets if ur compressor goes too hot..

so is there any way to buy the decals?

spraying on the lining, wouldn;t it disolve it or something?
*
my 2 cents:
if u are planing to paint it.. strip the decals.. if they're stickers.. make sure those sticky residue are removed too.. leftover stuff will kill ur paint job
spraying will most likely fade/blur ur panel lines.. so u have to redo them again..
u can order decals (water transfer type) online.. but kinda expensive..

0300078,
malaysia is a humid country so moisture is always there in the air.
i do have a moisture trap, but it only works to a certain "time" around 20-30mins depending on weather.. then need to drain the trap and wipe off excess water. do u have other methods which i could try? (pls don't tell me to buy an air dryer!! rclxub.gif )

I would like to go there to get my Gaplant Tr-5 since Time Machine is selling it so damn expensive (RM100 WTF!!!)!

And i would also like to know the F.S.S in ur Avatar!!! Wat scale is it? And where u get it and how much?
*
i'll be going to af-shop tomorrow biggrin.gif just to pester him thumbup.gif kekeke

i heard the uncle & aunty in time machine don't give good prices.. some forumers here say their son derrick gives good prices (i don't know cos i never did buy anything from them) pls forgive me if i'm wrong on this notworthy.gif .

it's a 1/100 wave, LED Mirage boomerang unit, it came with a backpack (made of vinyl) n flame launcher... but i broke most of them in several falls cry.gif cry.gif so now tat's wats left of it.. kekeke it's sitting in my office now..
i bought it a long time ago.. i think it was about 200-300RM.. forgot.. painted it with cans sprays
if u r thinkin of getting this, well don't! unless u are a professional modeler (i'm not).. cos it's was a total NIGHTMARE to make.. tat's why mine are in pieces now cry.gif

FSS has got the best designs by far.. but the plastic kits that wave makes really sux.. however, if you could get ur hands on those resin models from wave.. it's good.. but blardy expensive..

FSS heard that there are tough kit and also colourless one too!!! How was the articulture? All i know is tat this kits looks damn cool and is one of a kind!!!

Wat time r u ppl going there? i would like to join since i also want to go see the shop (not familar with all the road!!!). Maybe geting a MG Freedom see through plastic version (want to tried something crazy on it)!!!
http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle...IX_GundamX.html
Oh yeah a GFF Gundam X!!! This pictures tells me tat the Gundam X MG will not be far!!!
*
the articulation.. u can totally forget about it.. the polycaps are either too tight or too loose.. and of poor quality.. if i lift my mirage.. the feet will fall off cos the caps are broken.. mad.gif so it's just suitable for standing.. i think i need super glue to make it stick.. vmad.gif i.e. i had to put a lot of putty to shape the 2 halves of the legs.. cos the molding really sux.. or maybe i was too inexperienced.. doh.gif
but heck.. it's done and over with.. now i stay away from wave's plastic..
gunpla is more manageble tongue.gif kotobukiya's plastic AC is "decent" if u really wanna get FSS, be prepared to do work biggrin.gif anyways.. i dunno if they have upgraded thier quality for the recent release.. so no comment bout the current versions.
my favorite desing is FSS BANGDOLL.. but it's not available here.. and it's resin cast too..

we're gonna be there around 2-3pm.. it's easy to find.. just follow the map and if all else fails.. ask someone (look for paragon point shopping center) biggrin.gif

and then let it dry n spray wit the colors i wanna spray rite....

how many coats of spray to apply? only once?

usually twice/thrice.. but if ur coat is too thick den just once will have to do.. it depends on how u mix and how u spray ur paints

talking about spraying....

i assemble first then spray... parts by parts...
if you are going to buy can sprays from toy city (MV), make sure you kutuk the promoter there kao kao... ask them many many questions...

i bought 1 red and white spray from there, the white one stated for polycarbonate only.. i asked the staff there can it be used on gundams, he said yes.

Yes, it can be used but then do not to anything until the white paint is 110% dry, else it can be peeled off... arghh...

but the red is nice... both Tamiya brand...
*
tamiya acrylic spray cans? it doesn't adhere well to plastics.. maybe u wanna coat it with surfacer first.. biggrin.gif btw.. acrylic paint takes some time to dry up..

basically there are a few grade of surfacer.. (correct me if i'm wrong) from gunze/mr color.
500 - blue
1000 - white
1200 - gray
the higher the number, the finer the particles. i use 1000 on mine..
u can also use surfacer 500 as a putty too.. it works great too for small seam lines..
using surfacer/top coat can prevent minor peeling, so it depends on how u abuse the paint kekekeke
i think tis link will help u understand it's uses more clearly..

i think clipping ur nails will be step A! kekekeke
be gentle to ur kits.. it's not meant for being man-handled when u wana pose it.. check all the movable parts before changing pose.. this way u can avoid scratching it.. oso the use of topcoat or clear coat will help a bit.. but it u over do it.. the paint still comes off..

nope..he come over to BTS yesterday
like what 300078 said..you wont die one the spot if you AB in the aircond room..you die later long term..and your air cond will die first..and also..aircond mean closed room..then smell will stick in that room for a very long long time unless you open all the windows..

basically..its really stupid to AB in the closed aircond room..unless you got a spray booth which suck all those fume out..
*
i agree with you on the AB in an aircon room.. all of you guys out there spraying in an enclosed environment.. pls pls wear a gas mask and also get/make a spray booth. lacquer paint(mr.color) and thinner is most hazardous to your health.. esp ur lungs.. those fine paint particle will get stuck in your lungs.. (i'm not kidding) our body don't produce thinner ya know!.. it doesn't disolve in our body.. so safety first!! laugh.gif ok..ok.. i nag too much.. have fun!

*
usually, toycity carry those tamiya enamels.. but finding the right color will be really really tough.. if u just wanna use it for panel lines.. i think testors brand would be good.. miniature hobby in PJ sells them at a lelong price 3.50RM/bottle.. but mostly dark colors..
u can use lighter fluid to thin enamel.. it works great too..
i think 98% alcohol works too (can't remember exactly, cuz i prefer drinking it) tongue.gif

for mr.color lacquer paint..(water dont work) just brush the paint off with a toothbrush and thinner.. works for me.. biggrin.gif and then wash it off.. brushing it will clear off paint in the grooves..
