it is true.

Well it's just a matter of using the Titans mould and pouring in the same plastic, so there shouldn't be a problem with the AEUG version.

Anyway, good job by BANDAI here to release an improved version of the MKII. At least they are improving on design flaws.

QUOTE(hitsugayat10 @ Feb 2 2007, 07:21 AM)
IJ n SF's design do look complicated but not bulky rite? Seriously, i really hate Astray's design even though i'm into CE...Weird looking head  doh.gif
*
CE lover loathes Astrays? The red, blue, and gold frames are so good-looking it could pwn most of GSD's uninspiring designs. Just to make things clear, Dreadnought is also an Astray according to Lowe (Astray X) while Delta Astray is a total joke.

Anyway, from a gunpla point of view, the 1/100 Astrays have MG-like articulations although the joints are quite loose and fragile. Especially for the blue frame where the backpack is too bulky to be posed. My blue frame had too many freak accidents due to posing - Broke the right arm, broke the pegs of the palms, broke the orange part which holds the dagger... doh.gif

One last thing about Astrays... The torso is too small compared to the fat thighs. Not that it affects the articulation though. Oh yeah, the hole at the back of the torso for the backpack is too small and weak to support gigantic backpacks, hence affecting the model's ability to stand on it's own (unless you bend it slightly forward like a hunchback)... these are problems faced by my blue frame and my friend's Amatu.

Wat time r u ppl going there? i would like to join since i also want to go see the shop (not familar with all the road!!!). Maybe geting a MG Freedom see through plastic version (want to tried something crazy on it)!!!
http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle...IX_GundamX.html
Oh yeah a GFF Gundam X!!! This pictures tells me tat the Gundam X MG will not be far!!!
*
Will the release of an GFF indicate an iminent MG? I certainly hope so. Judging from the GFF version it seems that the X does have a lot of movable parts and gimmicks, especially the weapons.

BANDAI... release some good MGs... stop milking the Strike designs sweat.gif

As usual coated kits are damn expensive! Sure not getting this kit! 6175yen is already RM200+ better get the MG Hi-Nu (not worth paying so much for a NG kit)

I think a few forumers here still have the link to the website which got the MG IJ! See if they can help u......
Well unless you really love Bling Bling so much, then grab the Akatsuki whistling.gif But I'd rather get the original Bling which is the MG Hyaku Shiki... Looks nicer IMO.

MG IJ = http://f7.aaa.livedoor.jp/~mesarion/gallery/jusm/jusm.htm

QUOTE(ShinAsakura @ Feb 5 2007, 11:37 PM)
erm...there's no HG in it... its all MGs + 1 normal 1/100 scale

btw, wats differ in Astray Blue Frame 2nd L C3 Limited Edition?
I meant 1/100s since they are supposed to be larger sized HGs... Coz I saw the Aegis's arm there.
Limited Edition Blue Frame... extra finish version, no? Don't get extra finish versions, the parts scratch easily and there is no way to sand the extra plastic bits.

also, some wishful thinking....I hope bandai will come up with more MGs from the Zeta era...u know like the Bawoo, Dresden, Marasai....really hardcore baddies design! enough with zaku versions already!

QUOTE(jasonlky @ Feb 6 2007, 03:31 PM)
Ok then what do you call, creating the need and the want for their product, then coming up with various grades so that u want to continue to get better versions, more articulation, more details.... then the icing on the cake.... overpricing for the few pieces of plastic. sad.gif  The alternative is to go to a Gundam Rehabilitation program to get rid of the addiction.  Anyone know where to sign up.

In the mean time, any help with the PGs?... anyone, I need my fix.
*
Well, you could bank in all your money into my account so that you won't have any to spend on gundams biggrin.gif

PG... it's not as easy as finding MGs or other grades of models since it is expensive and attracts less buyers. But then why get PGs? Limited choices, large and bulky, and not forgetting older designs. Of course older designs doesn't mean the articulation is any worse than MGs, but then newer restyled designs tend to be better in proportions. Eg Zeta ver2.0 which has a longer body and slimmer head (although I have to say I prefer ver1.0's head tongue.gif )

On the subject of PGs, I still feel that an MG would suffice most modelling needs unless you tend to be a enthusiastic collector. 20K yen for a PG Zeta, and for that price you could get MG MKII AEUG + Titans, Zeta, Nemo, and Hyaku Shiki with a bit of spare change left. 5 MGs to keep you busy for probably 3, 4 months?

for pricing, dalong.net has most of them... check the PGs there for the price.

is it me or does the MG Noir look somewhat chubby
and notice the bottom picture wit the hands....looks like HG though  blink.gif
*
If this is the final prototype before it's release, then I suppose it's not really that impressive. sad.gif For a 4K+ yen kit, it looks as if it only comes with fixed palms instead of the movable fingers like the MKII's or the F91's. I might be wrong though and I hope I am since a 4K yen deserves much better.

The price is quite high too for such as basic kit. It's not any larger than the Freedom which costs 3800yen, but there might be newer gimmicks that the parang backpack is able to do. However IMO it's not really justified to see prices of MG-Strike based designs soaring higher and higher.

Unless a transformable MG Aegis comes along then we probably will jump in joy. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(whoami123 @ Feb 12 2007, 11:49 PM)
Actually you can't say like that lah...
the V fin is Gundam's trademark
if it doesn't has the V Fin, sure got complained by many Gundam fans (good example is Turn A Gundam)

SRW robots are not totally no similiarities
Huckebein series all share the same look too
Gespensts also same
it's just that SRW robots has more varieties then you won't feel so bored to look at it  laugh.gif
Ez8 doesn't have V-fins either, yet it's quite popular with gundam fans. Turn A was really hideous when it first came out, but now I feel that the design was quite innovative for a protagonist. But then, antagonist mechas had always appeared in weird designs, don't they?

Regarding the case of SRW, I personally don't like them for their cheesy designs. It's a personal bias, but I simply cannot fathom the thought of having giant drills and nails on the arms as weapons. Gundams, especially those of the UC era, had more realistic designs and arsenal (although it is fictional too).

QUOTE(300078 @ Feb 13 2007, 10:04 AM)
I dislike DX myself it color scheme looks ugly! I am a FAN of X and X-divider!!!

If u want to speak about "cool"ness that would be the Sentinel Lines Gundams!!! They r fierce and cool looking, the FAZZ and S / Ex-S gundam looks cool! Another cool mecha would be Sazabi and the upcoming Hi-Nu!!! Besides those i think it would end up to Crossbone gundam!!!! The AOZ ones are cool too!!!

Nvr watch them buy brought due to coolness!!! (excluding sazabi, saw it in 0093)
*
Cool-ness is very subjective. I actually prefer the DX although I have to say I loved the single bazooka of the X more than the double barrels of DX. X-Divider is quite ugly IMO due to the removal of the ultra cool X-wings at the back, and the replacement boosters are simply too conventional.

And Beam Harmonica? Too cheesy, just like Peacock Smasher... but then, everything has their own set of fans right?

Upcoming MGs are looking good, especially with HiNu and Zaku ver2.0. Strike Noir should be quite boring since it is yet another re-hash of the Strike Frame.

Regards the 08th MS Team
if one didn't watch the anime, how many of people will think that the Ez8 is actually main character's MS?
V Fin, red-blue-white-yellow color scheme become the characteristic of a Gundam MS
whenever someone saw a particular MS with these characteristics
they'll immediately think it's a Gundam
For once I've thought the R1 from SRW is a new type of Gundam too due to its color scheme  sweat.gif
*
That's why sometimes it's good to have a protagonist mecha which doesn't follow the exact colours of the traditional gundam biggrin.gif

And it also explains why Char's crimson mechas are so much badass looking than Amuro's laugh.gif

To be specific, gundams usually have the characteristic V-fin, moustache piece, mainly white body parts with a red-white-yellow and blue and probably tinges of black as well. Meh... I'd take a flaming red MS anyday!!

QUOTE(300078 @ Feb 13 2007, 11:19 AM)
Of course they are realistic they are real robot series! Those with drill and flying hands are from super robot series!!! For those who r familiar with Japan robot history may know about it
*
shocking.gif
I mean realistic, as in military realistic... rifles, guns, missiles, bombs; not drills, nails, spinning discs, or super duper hadouken stuff biggrin.gif

Oh well, you gotta admire the Japs for their vivacity and colourful imagination.

StarGhazzer:
Gundam topic
Yes, for us who are bored with Gundam "typical design" would like to see some different design of Gundam
but you can't deny the fact that "typical Gundam design" models always has better sales compare to others

SRW topic
If you DO really into SRW games
you should know SRW robots have 2 type - Super Robots & Real Type
those mecha which has "drills, nails, spinning discs, or super duper hadouken stuff" is in Super Robot side (ex. Getta 123, Mazinger, etc.)

On the other hand, Real Type are those which using "rifles, guns, missiles, bombs", which is "military realistic"
Example for Real Type Mecha is Gundams, Huckebein, Gespensts, etc.

Most of the SRW model kits selling in the market now are belongs to Real Type robots
only few are Super Robots type
Well thanks for the information about the different types of Super Robots biggrin.gif I think I will still stick to Gundams anyway.

And "traditional" models sell well because they are piloted by main characters and they are well engineered, not because of their color scheme. Destiny and SF didn't sell well for their 1/100s as well as their GSD counterparts.

All i care now is Hi v VS Sazabi or v VS nightingale!!! brows.gif

I think you mean nu VS sazabi and HiNu vs Nightingale...

If those twin packs do get released, imagine the price for them... shocking.gif

QUOTE(hitsugayat10 @ Feb 15 2007, 06:54 AM)
Hmm...bout the twin pack, better make it to MG la coz SF's proportion's like shit...Only Legend n IJ's worth getting...Not sure bout Destiny... whistling.gif
*
1/100 Destiny is quite well built and the proportions are so much better than the horrible SF's. However, since it is not the second generation 1/100s ala IJ and Legend, the articulations are not as elaborate.

Twin packs... I think it might be another stagnant product for BANDAI since it is the same price as buying two seperate 1/100s. Maybe BANDAI just took back those unsold ones and packed them together sweat.gif

Meanwhile, the HiNu box does look very cheesy and cartoonish, but the contents are superb, much more worth the cash than the bling bling SF FB.

More great stuff from hkml forum... sorry for those who don't have an account, there are so many masters in there notworthy.gif

^ It's not supposed to be red, the glowing crimson eyes you saw at gundambase were probably painted. Gundambase always paint their mecha for visual enhancement.

Look at the runners that come with the package in dalong.net and you will see their are stickers for the eyes. However the picture isn't really clear and it seems like it might get the same green stickers as the other MGs.

Cheers.

QUOTE(Ah WanG @ Feb 20 2007, 06:03 AM)
Cool stuff, absolutely superb. It seems that newer MGs now come with movable shoulder armors which permit 180-degree upward rotation of the arms, hence making it easier to pose sabre slashing stances with both arms.

However, I was hoping that the thighs would have movable parts similar to the MKII. Not the HiNu's thigh armor affects the articulation, but at least it would not make the knee part so naked when the knees are bent to the max.

Wings have wide range of motion too, hence making it probable to pose it in a WZC or Freedom manner... Superb.

7K yen... this is the only deterrence sad.gif
Why buy SFFB when there's the HiNU? biggrin.gif laugh.gif

An MG would be nice... feb=HiNu, mar=Noir; we still have april to dec to wait for the release of V2 biggrin.gif Hopefully, before the end of 07... unsure.gif

meanwhile, dalong's review of HiNu is complete.... 99 marks... superb stuff. However I think some fans might be disappointed with the size of the HiNu as it looks quite small and slim beside the bulky Nu.

Keep up the good work BANDAI...

Nu is incomplete where as HiNu is the refined version so of course slimmer lo. But its already bigger than strike freedom and rx78. Nu is the last and most powerful mecha piloted by amuro so its no surprise that HiNu is much more compact. laugh.gif
*
I'm not sure whether (in the novel Belthorchika's Children) HiNu is built and refined on the Nu's basic frame, or rather built on a brand new frame. If it was based on the Nu, how can the frame be shrunk that much? It should be the same size then. If it were the latter, then it's easier to accept the shrinkage.

But then, who cares as long as it looks so damn good... whistling.gif laugh.gif

QUOTE(kyosuke86 @ Feb 21 2007, 12:49 PM)
I'm thinkin of gettin a strike freedom soon. I need some advice/ answers

1. What's the main difference between MG and HG? (in terms of design)
2. Do i have to do any painting/spraying on MG/HG?
3. Is the price difference worth it?
4. What is the price range?
5. Where can I get it? (for cheap biggrin.gif)
6. Will MG/HG be easily transferable? (as in easy to move from one place to another. Eg. I'm travelling from KL to Singapore and would like to bring it along)
7. Any other advices?
8. Any other interesting models?

Thx biggrin.gif

Edit : Adding more questions

9. Any maintainance required?
10. Which looks better? MG/HG?
*
1. See dalong.net for picture reviews
2. You can, but it's not a requirement. MG's colors are good enough, maybe just a few touchups here and there.
3. YES YES YES YES YES.... but NO for the Full Burst
4. price... ask around the shops lah, or convert from yen loh
5. Lowyat.net tongue.gif Or modelling shops all over Klang Valley
6. Get a couple of ice cream boxes with bubble wrap and they should be ok. I shifted mine this way from KL back to JB without any damage to the parts.
7. BUY MORE !!! Welcome to the abyss.
8. MG UC... HGUC... Once you play with MGs, you'd never want to touch 1/100s or 1/144s again... at least for me. Good thing that PGs are still way out of my budget.
9. Erm... don't drop them or you WILL cry... cry.gif

Another addict in the making rclxm9.gif

Found something interesting from keita... MG Aries? shocking.gif
http://f20.aaa.livedoor.jp/~keita/wingfest...i/kotonashi.htm
Come on BANDAI... MG TALLGEESE !!! Roman gladiator FTW !!!

Just for interest's sake... I found one modelling shop in Chinatown in Melbourne over the weekend, and I almost cringed in agony at the price... AUD55 for 1/100 Saviour which costs 2600yen... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

I'm abstaining from buying gunpla for a year till I get back to Msia, prices here are crazy... cry.gif

Zeta just came out with the ver2.0 so any new releases should be a re-colored one whistling.gif Maybe it's the same case with the 2 F91s which were released within a narrow time period.
