that is soooo tHe YuCK.... Bad photoshop doh.gif Slapping on every gigantic backpack from CE is not the best way to design a gundam. And it's a 1/144 Blitz if I'm not mistaken... can see the trikeros shield runner...
Well, the gundam is not that beautiful tongue.gif Horrible colors...
*
yeah... bad color scheme...

QUOTE(VincC454 @ Mar 8 2007, 08:43 AM)
usually if you paint already gloss type..you can see the topcoat spray layer already..
topcoat suppose to be invisible mah..try to spray flat topcoat on unpainted shiny gundam plastic..then you can see..it not shiny anymore..
*
very true...

I have a mark setter! I ussually rub the decal on to the kit using coin or something hard!
Is it the way i apply it wrong?
*
QUOTE(valho @ Mar 9 2007, 03:44 PM)
the safest way to apply dry transfer decal is to use to use tape to stick the decal on the part u want the decal to be and rub it (i usually use the back of my crafting knife which is rounded). the tape will help u hold the decal in place and oso protect the decal . it oso makes it easy to apply on rounded or non flat area
*
using toothpick is also one of the best way to apply tiny decals... make sure the surface of the plastic is smooth, sanding will not make it smooth (enough)... use topcoat gloss to smoothen the surface. yes, a thin layer of topcoat gloss...

the best part is to 'mr surfacer' the plastic before applying any paint (be it hand paint, airbrush or can spray)... then the surface of the plastic will be smoother to apply any decals on it...

topcoat glass will help a lot as it will cover up the tiny tiny holes that mr surfacer missed... if u dont want ur outcome (ur gundam lah...) to be glossy, you can spray topcoat flat to make it matte...

i jz came back fr TM str8 after my work LOL...wanna get my 3rd liner, recently break 2 of my liners  mad.gif
use gundam eraser marker, if flow excessively, use tissue or cotton buds to suck da thinner or wipe it... careful~
*
why choose the expensive way when you have a great and NO COST way to do it?
if the gundam marker's mark has dried up (before you sempat to erase it), just scrap it away with a hobby knife or pen knife... then sand a bit the area with grade 1000 sand paper... settle..! whistling.gif NO COST AT ALL

Guys, the acguy is in dark brown color, rite? What if i just spray gold color on the brown just like that, what would it turn out? Gold?

After painting, is it hard to apply the decal?
*
better to have a coat of mr surfacer or mr white base.

spraying gold on brown, u will get gold... but not "gold" gold.. if u know what i mean

after paint... not hard to apply decal... try search this thread about decals... u will get lots of tips and tutorial (from me) too biggrin.gif

i don't recommend spraying with spray cans in hardware shop....

if you can't spray with airbrush, don't !!!! gundam can wait....until you get it spray...

those cans spray very very very ugly and is damn hard for you to control the pressure of paint
*
well, do not restrict people's creativity...

i see a few "hardware shop" spray cans sprayed gundam model... superb...

it depends on the modeller... if he is used to those kind of spray cans... he/she can do wonders with them biggrin.gif
