make sure u refuel ur car to full tank whenever is possible

there is a time i traveled from ashikawa to sapporo,
my fuel meter keep on blinking red light...
and the best part... there is no petrol station in sight

lucky it still can run another ~80km
after that i quickly exit to nearest town

the worst part, there is no petrol station there also
i hv to travel to another side of the town after asking around

at that moment i realized, japan hv very few petrol stations

I think English as the national language countries (US, UK, Aus etc.) does not require the IDP to rent a car for short term as the latest driving license has English on it, but Japan definitely needs it.

I did car rental in the US this year and they were fine with our latest driving license, while in Japan they specifically asked for the IDP when I rented a car in Hokkaido last year.
