QUOTE(deodorant @ Dec 29 2016, 08:18 PM) Disagree totally. Three weeks leh, 10 days is more than sufficient to comfortably do all the major attractions in Kansai. Then the next 6-7 days in Tokyo city and another 2-3 days in greater tokyo area. Not touch and go at all QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Dec 29 2016, 08:36 PM) well..everyone has different sightseeing preference, it's ok you disagree with me To be fair, kansai 10 days is rush, last time I went 9 days barely go all place, everywhere stay one night aldy lefti am not saying my suggestions are the only correct ones why need to do tokyo / kyoto / osaka / nara / kobe / hiroshima in 21 days in a trip, and in same season somemore ? and he stated his gf may not be able to afford 21 days trip...so you gonna sponsor her ? But tokyo 10 days , maybe fuji 2 days and Tokyo city 8 days , should be fine But then the rail pass can be cheaper and not required at all, same money |

I would stay in put in Tokyo and take the highway bus to visit lake kawaguchiko as well as all the places you mentioned for a day trip if you only plan to stay for 1 night. Moving all your luggage around for short stays is not enjoyable. I know it cos I just did it. [/quote] Not bringing luggage , maybe some small backpack for 3days 2 nights, will post forward my luggage from shinjuku to yokohama . Sure will stay at kawaguchiko and hakone to enjoy their onsen, else I felt wasted |

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Jan 5 2017, 10:02 PM) make sapporo your central stay... Thanks for the reply.otaru maybe I will skip the overnight , but noboribetsu sure will stay one or 2 nights. Plan to stay till very late at otaru, coz hear the night scene at the river super nice, but don't know wat is the last train back to Sapporo. Do you know ?then take train to otaru (short trip) and noboribetsu (slightly longer trip than otaru) QUOTE(deodorant @ Jan 5 2017, 11:35 PM) otaru just do day trip from sapporo (don't bother staying overnight). Ok . Looks like will go to Sapporo before heading to noboribetsu . But my flight back to kl, is Sunday morning 920am japan time, can I get transport to aiport from the onsen hotel in such early timing ?noboribetsu stay at least 1 night. lyn recommended ryokan is takimotokan cos the onsen is awesome. whether to do noboribetsu first or sapporo/otaru first depends on your flight times IMO. example if your arrival into CTS is afternoon then it's probably better to do sapporo first. |

Supper etc gua , or drink something while enjoy their scene.... when u say early ,ARD wat time it start to get dark ?Btw need to go noboribetsu first then Sapporo, else if depart frm noboribetsu on Sunday morning , no transport to catch my early flight at 920am..... |

QUOTE(sacwoc @ Jan 6 2017, 10:58 AM) Was there 3 years ago so my memory is still vague. If I remember correctly it start to get dark at 5PM. Went searching for dinner and most shops are close! And it was during Christmas period. There are shops inside the warehouse, but dinner dont look so yummy. I think there are some shops along the river but not sure what time they close. I got bored after a while, thats why I left early. Remembering back I actually stayed a night in Otaru - Dormy Inn which is just opposite the train station. The hotel offer free hot udon, that might also be the reason I left early. I checked the weather , looks like April still OK, sunset at 6pm+ like Malaysia Just had to hope tat not all shops closed so early ..... |

Is it upto the standard ?noboribetsu stay at least 1 night. lyn recommended ryokan is takimotokan cos the onsen is awesome. whether to do noboribetsu first or sapporo/otaru first depends on your flight times IMO. example if your arrival into CTS is afternoon then it's probably better to do sapporo first. In dilemma whether to book the dinner tgt ? As the price raised quite a lot comparing nondinner to dinner. Also I aldy stay at fuji hakone area for 2 nights which includes special Japanese dinner set...... So, Any good dinner restaurant around noboribetsu ? |

QUOTE(michlove @ Jan 19 2017, 12:40 PM) the only pocket wifi that I will always take from whenever I go Japan is Global Advance Communications. Your suggestion is so expThe coverage is very good even when I'm on top a ski mountain, around 1,000ft. They deliver the pocket wifi to your hotel at no extra charge if you are unable to pick-up at the airport. They also provide you a self addressed envelope when you need to return it to them. Just drop it into the post box at the airport. |

QUOTE(yellowpika @ Jan 20 2017, 02:35 PM) Nope. Plan to try Kobe beef again since last time I tried at one of the onsen resortNot sure, but I think it's worth trying at least once(unless you can find other similar restaurants at a similar price).. Since I've been eating at those "vending machine restaurants" and McD in Japan during this whole trip, might as well splurge at least once.. So good , can't forget the taste |
