Anyone owning a Great Wall -M4 SUV.
Great look mid size SUV,attractive price and very good built quality.
Back in Dec 2015,they're giving a 7 years warranty with unlimited mileage.
My wife's Citreon C3 is up for a change.
Thinking of getting the M4,any reviews/comments?

You can read an in depth review by a local car blogger :

I've read thru most of the review, but sometimes it would be more meaningful to actually hear it from an owner, cos they would have driven the car for months.Sometimes things pop up a few months down the road.

The magazine reviewers only have the car for a few days or maybe a week or two.

Ya it's rather small, but I think it's cos the upright seating position of the back seat.

My concern is that they used other "no so reliable" engines. But if it's from toyota or Mit or Nissan, than it's ok.
Considering the fact that they provide 7 years unlimited milage, they must be confidant of their engine.

^ exactly.....

might look like a toyota engine or be based off any engine for the matter but built, design, tolerances might be diferent. So until its proven itself on our roads after a few years, reliability is a question mark. If you ask me, that gearbox is an even larger potential disaster.

on paper, it looks relatively decent. japanese engine + german amt but honestly one would not know if its any good until it proves itself few years down the road.

pls update ur view on china product, for a company at this size, they are licensing by original manufacturer.
reason:
1. out dated by original manufacturer (as they have newer engine)
2. Original manufacturer don't have to keep or keep making spare.

a lot big brand is doing this practice now.

Even if it's a Toyota, AMT is big no no.

I think I'm not getting any car with AMT anymore after my experience with Citroen.
A lot of electronic problem and it cost a bomb to repair.

The AMT in M4/H1 is far less problematic than the one in Citroen. None of the owners have ever need to repair the AMT motor after 2+years on the road. The mileage of some AMTs have hit 80+K km. Mine is already 3+ years and very reliable unlike my other local car.
