my house finally has unifi ready. Had placed order now wait for the call from TM on the appointment to install.
Finally. It is a 2.5 years long wait.
18 September they installed finished the green box, 18 October the service coverage is available. One month time. It is shorter than some experienced at 2 months or longer. Good. Haha.
Can't wait for the service to be activated at my house.

QUOTE(jagadis @ Oct 14 2016, 09:19 PM) Any idea when TM will be coming out with any new plans? I'm on 8mbps streamyx for RM178. Unifi just came in to my place but the current 30mbps is RM199. I really don't see a point of paying more than my current bill as I am the only person using it at home and I don't use much. I think for my consumption, 10mbps is good enough but telekom doesn't have anything than 30mbps. Its funny, as time passes HSBB is suppose to be cheaper and faster but it is only getting more expensive. It is faster but whats the point if the minimum package is more expensive. RM199 for internet is a waste for many households. Rm178 and rm199 price difference is really minimum but the experience u will have for unifi vs streamyx is totally different.

QUOTE(jagadis @ Oct 19 2016, 08:51 AM) Yes, small difference but it is not what I need. 10mbps is good enough for me and it should be cheaper no choice, we are controlled under a monopoly system. if ur side is covered by time broadband, u can consider it also.

QUOTE(lyrilmaki @ Oct 19 2016, 11:19 AM) oh gawd.. the time I install UniFi, I didn't install my HyppTv as I don't have a TV. so the installer took my HyppTv and said will activate for me at his home/office. I did received the activation email of HyppTv account, but he did not return my HyppTv modem. I been calling him to return, but he said he didn't come around my area to work. if it is activated then likely tm will have records so most likely they will ask u to return as part of the requirement for termination. so u may want to chase back the item asap.

QUOTE(vez @ Oct 19 2016, 06:58 PM) is it pro-rated? Unifi is pay before use, for example your UniFi start use on 25th Sept, next bills you pay is RM199+6% AND 25th until 30th Sept RMxx.xx if you use at 1st Sept, your first bill could be 2x RM199+6% unless you get one month free promotion when subscribe to UniFi which i get it two years + ago... Now also got one mth free if subscribe online...

seems like now there are few options for new installation.
1) sign up online at tm - free 1 month unifi subscription Package for 30Mbps - rm199 excluding GSt etc. 2) sign up via 100 sales department - free 1 month hypptv premium subscription Same package price as 1) 3) sign up at certain TM resellers or agents - rm179 package price for 30Mbps but it comes with unifi (Internet) and free Hpptv channels. But it does not come with the voice plan rm20 one - with free 600 minutes talk time.

QUOTE(ad2000 @ Oct 22 2016, 05:33 PM) Last room, you mean your room facing back lane right? Normally the fiber terminal box is located behind house.. Mine, they didnt go through the ceiling Just drill a small hole tru the wal. I cover the hole with Polyfilla plaster bought from DIY shop..in fact two walls drilled actually ..then fiber cable straight tru the family area upstairs where my audio/video components is Tm can install the unifi equipments at any place u want actually. Just that if it exceeds the limit of the maximum length of cable (free), u need to pay for the extra, and also any additional work than the normal installation provides.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 22 2016, 06:29 PM) Oh is it? I didn't know that because for my current place, I saw they pulled from front. I can go and apply for relocation soon though I will only need it by end of November. Nope but you can try and let us know. Mine also over a year now. new houses with green tm fibre distribution points will connect from the front of the houses one.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 22 2016, 11:05 PM) Nope, it is Aneka. It is RM 30. For early adopters like us are paying RM 30 for HyppTV but we got RM 20 discounted price for our Internet. I don't know which one is mine, anyway let them do and I will pay them. I see. Then can cancel I think. VIP hypptv package is only 12 months contract.
