Hi all,

I find my internet connection to China are specially very slow. The same with both my previous Streamyx and current Unifi service.

Example on mobile: download file or load a web page hosted in China are extremely slow or sometimes even stopped half way, but when switched to mobile data (I'm on Maxis), the page / file loads very smoothly. Another example: when I received forwarded video clip from friend on WeChat, the video load very slow or sometimes not load and stopped, but switched to mobile data and it continue to load smoothly.

Even tried on PC, using my phone as mobile hotspot load sites from China much faster than connect to router on Unifi or Streamyx.

Can I do anything to get rid of this problem?

I can see Time Fibre is coming to our building very soon, any previous Time Fibre user here have good experience with the connection to China sites?

Any idea when TM will be coming out with any new plans?
I'm on 8mbps streamyx for RM178. Unifi just came in to my place but the current 30mbps is RM199. I really don't see a point of paying more than my current bill as I am the only person using it at home and I don't use much. I think for my consumption, 10mbps is good enough but telekom doesn't have anything than 30mbps.
Its funny, as time passes HSBB is suppose to be cheaper and faster but it is only getting more expensive. It is faster but whats the point if the minimum package is more expensive. RM199 for internet is a waste for many households.

And what makes you think to have that assumption? Why can't have both? Other broadband services are doing that.

Come on 5Mbps is too slow by today's standard.

Yeah definitely haha. I just hope that TM will value their customers especially those who's being a long time on their Pro plans, since the beginning of 20mb with rm2xx price tag.

Luckily my mum is not but she is now staying with my sister whose house is with Streamyx and unlimited calls.
Once UniFi is activated at my sister's taman, I think my sis will terminate the free calls.

See, this is within a 40 minute span. TM says, it's alright if its within 80 percent, 80 percent of 30Mbps is 24Mbps and all these are below that mark. It was fine until Friday night. I'm seriously thinking of jumping ship to Maxis Fibre if this keeps up, though they use TM's infrastructure so I doubt anything will change. 

Hi guys, a quick questions, currently i'm using Unifi 30mb line with default TMnet modem and router.

Everytime my gf open 1 youtube video during my online game session (BF, Dota), it will start lagging and rubber banding. Please be aware it is just 1 youtube video not even in HQ quality and I'm testing my speed test with constant 30mb dl speed.

So may i know is the the problem on router bandwidth distributing? Or i just have to accept the fact?

I have a question.

I was trying to stream video from some website using UC Browser via HyppTV. While the video plays fine, the audio and video seems to be slightly out of sync. Is it possible to get smooth playback at all?

I tried lowering the resolution in the STB display setting but it doesn't seem to have any relation at all.

Somehow the lagginess disappear after a while. It's playing smoothly now. Weird.

Any good router to replace the Dlink DIR-850L router? Asus?

Update:I found that some website cannot access in OpenDNS as well,I think TM there have some problem regarding DNS

I'm using UC Browser. Stock browser somehow has issues with streaming video.

Can't even install Chrome, device unsupported error in Google Play.

Anyway, back to the topic. Received SMS from TM this morning to update to Ruby package and receive RM 30 AEON voucher. It mentions no additional payment, no contract extension. Why not? So, I have registered and it says it will take 3 days to update and 14 days to send my voucher to the service address. The problem is I will be moving out soon.

I plan to invest in a better router, as im currently using the TM router.

I have narrow down to Asus Rt-N14UHP Wireless Router as the choice, whoudl you all recon its a good buy for the model mentioned above?

Currently using 20MBs package, staying in 2 & Half storey house. Pls advice. Thank you.
