sorry for misunderstand.....
i got this 30 free upgraded from 10mbps last time.....
so i assume the contract is follow the 10mpbs one....
*
Nope. Refreshed.

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Oct 5 2016, 12:05 PM)
Free upgrade no refresh of contract (in my case my 5 upgrade to 10) as it was not requested by us.

But 10 free upgrade was to 20, not 30 (if I'm not mistaken la)....
*
No la. Free upgrade from VIP to VIP yes, VIP to Advance no, will refresh.

Hypptv stb v1 (since vip days) kaput, called up TM and asked for replacement, since I just upgraded to unifi 100 earlier this year, got extension 1 year on hardware warranty so now got a new hypptv android box. Not really using it for hypptv though, mainly using it to stream media through Plex. wink.gif
*
I side loaded APKs to enjoy watching some shows from the box. biggrin.gif

how you install those apk? straight through pendrive? does it have to be in certain format?
*
First you will need to install file explorer like ES File Explorer from Play Store, then you can side load from thumb drive or MicroSD. Apps only have APK format isn't? Download these APKs from websites like APK Pure .

Does anyone have experience of relocating UniFi line? I'll be moving to a new place soon which is just a neighbouring taman of my current place. I checked in UniFi coverage, this house is covered and with available port. The current tenants also told me, they don't have UniFi so their port should be still available.

I know I can call 100 to ask but I know you guys are faster than them. tongue.gif Do I need to pay for this relocation? How to kick start like how long in advance? biggrin.gif

Thanks. biggrin.gif

As mentioned in TM official page, under number #16
Or you can refer to response from other forumer in here, in summary:

- relocation is free
- go to TMPoint outlets and fill-up the form
- you may be charged for additional wiring if needed in new place
*
Thanks for spoonfeeding me. biggrin.gif Looks like I will need to visit TM Point soon once I confirm securing this unit. biggrin.gif

Complained to MCMC and lo behold. One day later they resolved the issue and notified me that I would get the overcharged money back in the next two billing cycles. Thank you fruitie and everyone else who advised me to complain to MCMC.
*
Glad that it's sorted out for you. I started complaining to MCMC since my university days for Celcom broadband. laugh.gif

This year around January the technician came to my house and installed Unify but not hypptv and thus I didn't get my tv box. How do I get the tv box for now?
*
Called your installer. I also had this issue. I called 100 as well, they said if I can't get my installer, will open a case for me and I will collect from nearest TM Point.
Long story short I managed to call my installer after few months...

p/s: i just throw away one hypptv sealed box, which came with my streamyx package 3 years ago, i keep the UniFi Hypptv box only lol

they don't need a tv to setup the hypptv.. all they checked is whether the box can display a clock or not. If clock is working, it means the hypptv can receive a signal correctly..  However, this is for old hypptv decoder. The newer decoder that has wifi, I think it doesnt have any lcd display..
*
Well, I don't bother la. Though it is keeping dust now and I already have the latest version, I still want it to be given to me. tongue.gif

QUOTE(G K Lai @ Oct 11 2016, 01:57 AM)
Hi all,

I find my internet connection to China are specially very slow. The same with both my previous Streamyx and current Unifi service.

Example on mobile: download file or load a web page hosted in China are extremely slow or sometimes even stopped half way, but when switched to mobile data (I'm on Maxis), the page / file loads very smoothly. Another example: when I received forwarded video clip from friend on WeChat, the video load very slow or sometimes not load and stopped, but switched to mobile data and it continue to load smoothly.

Even tried on PC, using my phone as mobile hotspot load sites from China much faster than connect to router on Unifi or Streamyx.

Can I do anything to get rid of this problem?

I can see Time Fibre is coming to our building very soon, any previous Time Fibre user here have good experience with the connection to China sites?

Thanks in advance.  smile.gif

I don't have such issue though. I surf Weibo on my phone all the time and it is connected to my UniFi. It loads very smoothly.
WeChat no problem too, I always view videos and pages linked from China because all my friends in WeChat are colleagues from China, so all the pages are all from China sites.
I'm also an avid Taobao shopper and just placed my orders on Taobao China.

Sometimes could be IP address issue, have you tried restarting your equipment to get another IP?
