Because it is a targeted campaign, that's why you don't see it in their website. Maybe you need to ask around a few resellers. Unifi Official TM UniFi High Speed Broadband Thread V27, We Want Cheaper Price!

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Nov 30 2016, 11:04 PM) Price not affordable for many of us. excerpt from soyacincauWaiting for the price to drop by half as mentioned by Najib during budget 2017. But not sure when will the so called half price reduction happen. EDIT: Half price = RM179 (RM189.74 GST-ed). So, [179/2] x 1.06 = RM94.87 QUOTE So that’s everything TM said. But what does it all mean and what can we realistically expect come January of 2017? Well, the first thing you should take note of is what TM is actually saying. They said that “under the initiative, the average broadband speeds for residential UniFi customers will be doubled at the same price”. The keyword here is ‘average’, not all. Of the 900,000 UniFi subscribers, the only thing TM promised to double was the average speed, and they can do it in a number of ways. The first would be to just double everyone’s speed and be done with it. Happy subscribers, happy life. However, you also need to consider the fact that TM could just double the speed of their low-speed plans (for example, VIP5, VIP10 and VIP20) and give a minor speed boost to their UniFi Advance plans to bring the overall average up. Secondly, there is also a chance that new UniFi subscribers, who subscribe in January 2017, will not get the speed upgrade because, in the press release, TM only talked about upgrading existing customers. Keep in mind that we’re not saying this will happen, only that it could happen. What do you think? I think for 2017 the price per package is not going down , the only price per Mb is going down. Nice manipulation you have there TM. Total reduction price per package ? Maybe 2018 This post has been edited by Xefron: Nov 30 2016, 11:14 PM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Dec 1 2016, 12:02 AM) Hard to say TM is a public company when our government keeps 'subsidising'/'sponsoring' TM broadband improvement + rollout. First, u need to understand the HSBB network is build based on Private Public Partnership.Sigh.....Guess I gonna pay RM200+ for my unifi and RM90+ for my streamyx forever.... It is either our government doesn't have enough money or doesn't want to spend too much money on the connection infra. So they go PPP. As a return ,the 'wise' government giving permission to TM to control the HSBB network since TM who forks the money much. Imagine if the infra cost is bare 100% by the government, then gov open to all telcos with some fee, then maybe we can have more competitive pricing. But that is not the case today. Like I said before,TM is a GLC.Of coz government want to prioritize its linked company first. This post has been edited by Xefron: Dec 1 2016, 09:23 AM |

This free upgrade is not just for this new promo,it is open to all existing UniFi customer too as long they are
-registered before 31st Dec 2016 -not receiving any free upgrade before within this year (pay the same price but increase speed) -is subscribed to VIP 5/10/20 or UniFi 30/50 (whatever the variants) -the area can support the new upgrade speed -not under special scheme when buying a new home with UniFi ready -not a business customer -no contract refresh -existing UniFi 50 to 100 only may or may not need to change their CPE (BTU and RG) with no charges. So they will have a list of eligible customers and these customers will be contacted in stages if interested or not in proceeding with the free upgrade. You will be contacted via email, telephone or SMS. 5 to 10 10 to 30 20,30 to 50 50 to 100 100 - unchanged. so my analysis is correct only decrease in price per Mb not packages for the year 2017.so no major decrease in revenue only lost of opportunity for TM. This upgrade exercise is so confusing.
Currently, not all customers are enjoying the same price under same speed. There will be the scenario where your new upgrade package is cheaper ,same price or expensive than your previous one. If cheaper good for the customer,if more expensive how ? |

Let me put it this way after reading the F@Q
This FREE upgrade is not just for this current running promo,it is open to all EXISTING UniFi customer from day 1 too as long they are -registered before 31st Dec 2016 -not receiving any FREE upgrade before within this year 2016 (pay the SAME previous price but increase speed) -is subscribed to VIP 5/10/20 or UniFi 30/50 (whatever the variants) -your area can support the new upgrade speed -not under special scheme when buying a new home with UniFi ready -not a business customer -no contract refresh is needed -open to out of contract and within contracted customers -existing UniFi 50 to UniFi 100 only; may or may not need to change their CPE (BTU and RG) with no charges. -For VDSL 30Mbps user, you may or may not able to go to 50Mbps speed (50/50 chance) -no retail price change for 2017 for newcomers. So they will have a list of eligible customers and these customers will be contacted in stages if interested or not in proceeding with the free upgrade. You will be contacted via email, telephone or SMS. 5 to 10 10 to 30 20,30 to 50 50 to 100 100 - unchanged. So for a new customer who subscribed after 31 Dec 2016,you will be paying retail price for RM199 -UniFi 30 RM249 - UniFi 50 RM329 - UniFi 100 *Excluding discount and GST if any. Currently, not all customers are enjoying the same price under same speed. There will be the scenario where your new upgrade package is cheaper ,same price or expensive than your previous one.So we don't know how TM will tackle these. Will our current HyppTV Pack and discount will be carry over ? QUOTE(ahpek26 @ Dec 8 2016, 06:36 PM) I suggest you be careful and read the terms and condition thoroughly. Your concern is valid.Currently the terms and conditions clearly states that NEW subscribers from 1 December 2016 to 31 December 2016 will be eligible for a free speed upgrade IF they REGISTER and INSTALL before 31 December 2016. So if you register but install date after 31 December 2016 then your not eligible. Secondly, they have not mention ANY free upgrade for current Unifi user whether its VIP 5 to 20 to ADV 30 or 50. There is a new terms and condition that have been updated TODAY that is vastly differently from YESTERDAY which removed the clause regarding upgrade for CURRENT UNIFI USER. At the moment, the only user that's confirmed to get a free upgrade in 2017 is the people registering a new UNIFI and INSTALLING it between 1 December 2016 to 31 December 2016. Lastly, before this the TNC states that special packages such as OKU is not eligible for free upgrade BUT TODAY its been removed. I called TM today and asked if Vip 20 get free upgrade and they don't know. It seems that your more likely NOT getting anything if your already a Unifi user so this "FREE UPGRADE" is mostly for NEW user. Refer here: https://www.tm.com.my/speedupgrade/Pages/index.html TNC: https://www.tm.com.my/speedupgrade/Pages/as...peedUpgrade.pdf FAQ: https://www.tm.com.my/speedupgrade/Pages/as...Website_Eng.pdf If anyone wants to correct me then your very welcome as I'm just as confused as everyone regarding this nonsense. They shouldn't put the previous version of the F@Q and replace with this one thus creating a perspective that this free speed upgrade exercise is only open to anyone who buys UniFi during this campaign period only. If it is true it will contradict what have been told to the media and investment analyst before.LOL I still believe it should be this way,the free speed upgrade is still open to all existing UniFi since day 1 that meet certain criteria, not just for a new customer who buys this current promo. This current promo just wants to encourage people to buy their plan before the free upgrade exercise begin, therefore, they will get double the speed without increase of fee next year. plot twist: since I also didn't get any SMS/email/phone call for the mysterious gift....does this means anyone who got the mysterious gift somehow doesn't qualify for the free upgrade due to certain constraints?
I am fully FTTH and i am quite confident I will get the upgrade. I think anyone who doesn't get the email/sms,don't terminate your UniFi yet and replace it with RM179 promo. This post has been edited by Xefron: Dec 9 2016, 02:09 PM |
