After few days of observing the power consumption of my Apple Watch, with Background App Refresh turned off, I have come to a conclusion.

The power consumption remained the same as how I usually use on watchOS 2.

Background App Refresh turned on will affect power consumption in a big way.

*
Hmmm... means watchOS 3 doesn't improve battery life for Apple Watch series 0. Thanks for the feedback!

No problem smile.gif

One thing I forgot to add that turning on the watch is much....much slower than before.

Ok, that's worrying smile.gif

Anyways I've decided to wait for Series 1 as the price difference is only RM150 compared to the Series 0 aluminium ones now.

Hi, am considering on getting an Apple Watch. I was informed that Machines is giving a 50% discount on the Series 1.

Therefore, I was wondering, should i get the series 1 now with the discounts or should i wait for the series 2? In your experiences with Series 1, is it good enough?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Those are not Series 1. Those are the first generation of Apple watch (some call them series 0).

Series 1 and 2 not yet launched in Malaysian market.

The 50% discount is for the Stainless Steel variant of the old gen (or we call Series 0). Series 1 with the new processor which is the same as Series 2 is not available yet, but explains why there is a sales for the Series 0 biggrin.gif

Those units at Machines / Mac City with the discounts are considered the first gen series (Series 0)
Series 1 and Series 2 is not yet available to purchase here in shops.

In my opinions, AW series 0 stainless steel version is a very good buy now, especially some seller is providing a free Apple Watch 42mm Black Leather Loop (means two straps in total). May refer to this.

Black stainless steel is BEAUTIFUL

First glance cheap...however series 2 alu version selling for RM1749 for a 42mm. Only slightly more expensive and alu has its pro and con vs a stainless.

agreed . especially if you are just buying the watch to just view notifications and time.

The Series 1 and 2 improved speed is only utilised when you use apps in the watch alot.
If you are a swimmer who swims with a watch then series 2 is the only choice.

The price for Series 1 and Series 2 is a huge difference, think many would go for series 1 instead if they are not fully utilizing the swim function?

In my opinions, if you are not using it for swimming, AW series 0 (SS Black) is good enough and the price is attractive now.

i do swim but i dont think i'll wear it while swimming.. its not comfortable to swim while wearing a watch.. actually i already decided to go with AW S0 SS space black..
it is more stylish + the black glossy finishes fits with upcoming jet black phone (if i could ever get 1 sweat.gif ).

Stainless steel more easily scratch
The thing you got to worry about is the screen

There's no Series 2 in stores yet, just posters. According to the Machines employee, it's coming sometimes next month. Got the Series 2 from Singapore instead.

But in gym normally i keep my iPhone in the locker.
Without paired with iPhone can the AW play music independently?

Get a price for exchange, RM1050 for 1st gen apple watch....... mehhh.... I rather buy a new series 1 apple watch, and sell the charger and cable to cover some of the cost.

Isn't that apple store like machines and switch doing clearance for the 1st gen watch?

The update 3.1.1 brings practically no visible novelty, apart from the support of the emojis offered by iOS 10.2, On the other hand, the update brings a whole bunch of bug fixes.

Anyone had paint chipping off from the plastic connector of the straps? Not sure what is the exact term to call the connector, it's the part where you slide it in to the watch.

I noticed it with 3rd party straps especially if the connectors are black.

Mine's the original Apple woven nylon. Perhaps plastic much softer than the aluminum body that causes this? I tend to swap bands often so sliding in and out quite frequently. hmm.gif

Just got my Apple Watch series 1, a wedding anniversary from my wife. 42mm sport. Which case do you guy suggest? I'm a bit rough on my daily beater, g-shock gulfman.

Notice that notification like text email is also not syncing properly after setting it up as well, now in the midst of updating.

Yea. Just put your songs into your playlist.

You may choose to upload your songs to your watch to listen from watch (which requires bluetooth earphone) through Watch App on your phone

Hi Guys,

I recently got an Apple Watch as a present from a friend of mine.
I am having issue pairing it with my device.
It's a new unit and never been paired with different device. It got stuck on Software Update for more than 12 hours now.

My iPhone has been updated to the latest version. However, i am having trouble updating my WatchOS. Current version for WatchOS is 2.1.

Hi guys, I just got hit by a bike while cycling on Kesas. The screen and the housing of my Apple Watch is totaling damaged. The watch is still working fine though.

Do anyone know where to have the housing and screen replaced? I am using the very first gen Apple Watch.

Still too expensive for series 1. I got mine from Machines last year and it's about the same price.

I had some additional discount if I order from 11street. Hence I'm asking if this is genuine.
If I get it from retail store or direct from the Apple store, then it's RRP only.

Go mudah for used set, Machine/Switch/Harvey and etc for new set.

Do not ever trust those corn people online selling cheaper than market rate unless you are expert and able to verify the watch.

Quick question:-

I bought the 42mm and it comes with a spare 38mm sport band strap (S/M) in the box...and since I don’t need the 38mm I’m planning to give it to my sis as a spare, but she bought the 38mm Watch...does it fit into her Watch?

Actually 42mm Watch should only come with 42mm strap as the body only works with 42mm strap. 38mm straps will only work with 38mm watch body.

S/M size is the length of the strap which meant for small to bigger hand.

thanks , just clarified this with machines yesterday, basically 42mm and 38mm case size comes with S/M and M/L, so to whoever wanna get a shorter strap that fits 42mm case size, go for S/M

Samsung Watch already used e-sim way many years before apple watch but still operators haven't made any action to introduce the e-sim.

Will just wait and see. sad.gif

It means it needs to be charged. Let it charge for an hour and see how it goes. Try and restart it afterwards.
If still nothing happens, Its probably a defect you need to bring it to a service center.

Tried yesterday for almost 3-4hours however still the same.

I search for youtube and found its on reserve power mode.

Let it fully drain first for 2 days and try charge again.

Almost 5 months on the shelf and power drained off.

Yesterday my husband tried to charge however that screen came out. No more warranty as bought before released in malaysia

if you don't wanna get the pricey straps on official stores, lazada is the best place for u to get either clone or cheap straps... materials are good and durable too...

they are all the same sellers using different users.. so it doesn't matter... I think out of 20 diff sellers, there are only 2-3 person behind it lol....I found out coz the delivery address is the same despite different seller id..

Noticed that Apple Store is selling Apple Watch Series 1 & Series 3 but no Series 2. Find it a bit odd. Is Series 1 worth the buy? What is the major difference between Series 1 and 3?

because both series 2 & 3 are quite same. Series 3 is upgraded version of series 2. Major difference is series 1 cannot be used underwater while both series 2 & 3 can be used underwater ie swimming

Since Series is selling at very low price, it is very worth if you purely use the series 1 watch for notifications and time . Both of these dont really need good performance.
If you would like to swim with your watch, want an embedded GPS in the watch and uses watch's app alot, then i will say take Series 3.
