Is there still people go after the 1991-1995 SXV10? Or the 1996-2002 SXV20? Are their spare part getting hard to source?

id go for the xv20 if between these 2. i still see xv20 on the road, xv10 not so much.

i think xv20 spare parts are still easier to find than acv30. everytime i try to search parts for acv30, results all xv20 and acv40. but exterior parts will be more difficult la, need to ask around half cut shops.

but main concern would be most of the parts would need replacing anyways on xv10 and xv20.

i think xv20 is still a good car, just needs some tlc and need to bear the not so good fuel consumption, also the 2.2L road tax.

Still can search for parts but the 2.2L engine parts are getting more & more expensive & rare.
There are some rare camry with 2.5L V6 engine for this era, most transfer half-cut engine over as during 90's the V6 (MZ series) engine got win awards in Japan and some upgraded with TRC (Traction control).

Hello, can someone give me their thoughts, recommendations and advice?

My company recently let go of their vehicle fleets, as part of their plan to opt for renting fleet instead of purchasing like before.

I ended up purchasing the 2014 Camry 2.5V. Got it for RM 30k. Yes the car has been used by our drivers for interstate travelling a lot. So the mileage is on a high side.

But it’s still within our company active fleet until early this year. I have talked with few of the drivers and many vouch the car in term of reliability and maintenance.


As mentioned above, I’d love to get everyone opinions on what I should do next?

first of all check the balance shaft , then do full service including change the transmission filter , replace gasket if there is any leaking etc

Get a reputable Toyota Mechanic to check it all, for company car i got doubts of people really taking care of it as it is not personally own.
Need to get a true expert to get it check truly from chassic to engine/gearbox condition, from there only they can inform you the actual car condition and how much to expect fixing it.

around 10-15k if direct seller. under 10k units available as well just have to dig around.

2.4 post fl good unit usually abit above that. but should be well under 20k.

under 10k so worry of taxi limousine units

The best way is join acv30 group malaysia via fb, some of the members selling off their cars, deal direct with the owner.. Not thru used car dealer

Strikes gold! I bring the vehicle for inspection and to my surprise and relief the mechanic said everything looks good. No bent chassis, rust and leaks. except for the bushing which is hard. He said still usable as long as I don’t plan on lejan the car.

Really happy with how the car turned out. Got 4 new conti tyres and the mileage is at 269k. That should still be a good mileage right?

Ive seen someone selling acv30 2.4v for rm10k plus through acv30 owners malaysia group fb, the current owner really well maintained the car, looks good inside out

If the car is well taken care before, mileage is non issue.

Still good mileage, just check balance shaft incase need to be replace

20 years car, almost everything need to change.. not worth it

In my case, my acv30 2.0e bought as brand new from toyota malaysia, it was my mom car and very well maintained by my dad since day one
Then it was given to me as a new owner, so far less problematic, just minor repair here and there, service on time.. Long distance driving without any problems, smooth

If the previous owner well maintained the car then no need to worry, if so might just minor repair
But
If previous owner didn't care much bout car care, then not worth it
