QUOTE(DDG_Ross @ Oct 22 2016, 09:48 PM) yeah..maybe got something to do with the upcoming china trip..whether it will be based on the Chief of Navy version of 15 to 5 plan or the government's own version of 15 to 5 plan is the big question now.. |

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Oct 22 2016, 11:15 PM) What the Chief of Navy have in mind doesn't mean the government have the same plan as well..things can change depends on the budget and maybe political reason as well..the number of ships per class can be reduce or maybe the type of ship to fulfill each role can be change as well.. |

China made ship for LMS
“On November 5, 2016, the Defence Ministry will sign a contract for the procurement of Littoral Mission Ship (LMS) with SASTIND (The State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense of China), which is an important essence of the official visit of the Prime Minister to China by the end of the month,” Hishammuddin says at a gathering at the ministry. QUOTE(atreyuangel @ Oct 25 2016, 08:47 PM) probably western sensor and cms from the article:I have the feeling that I would be tacticos if BNS were to made it but if THHE then... anybody guess It is likely that two of the LMS will be built in China, with the other being built locally by Boustead Naval Shipyard. It is likely the contract signing will include transfer of technology, whereas BNS could build more the LMS locally as the RMN had planned to have 18 of the vessels to replace a number of vessels currently serving with its fleet. so for start half will be made in china and remaining here in malaysia |

QUOTE(atreyuangel @ Oct 25 2016, 08:55 PM) so confirm not THHE eh, based on the article..the deal involve four ships..which is kind of a odd number.. man the ppl in THHE surely pissed seems that for sure they will got the rights to build it at one point if knowing Malaysia the number will be 6 for the 1st batch so 2 made in china and remaining in Msia? |

QUOTE(yinchet @ Oct 25 2016, 09:53 PM) Huh did I miss something after reading it twice. Sorry for confusing you guys..what i meant was that the first order would be 4 ships instead of the normal number like 6.. From the article it only pointing two ship will be build in china and malaysia plan to build 18 units. The 4 laksama class will be retire slowly when the ship be commissioned. quote from the article : He did not explained further about the contract but said later on social media that procurement of the LMS means that the RMN’s 15-to-5 plan was going ahead. Industry sources told Malaysian Defence that the government=to-government deal will involved four ships. Malaysian Defence have reported about the proposal for the LMS previously, here. |
