Two people were killed and one injured when a military helicopter crashed in Mexico's violent state of Tamaulipas, the latest in a series of such incidents.

The chopper was on a reconnaissance flight eight kilometers east of the state capital of Ciudad Victoria near the US border when it came down, the defense ministry said in a statement.

The cause was unknown, media reported.

The aircraft was carrying two pilots and an army officer. The co-pilot, the sole survivor, was airlifted to hospital.

A plane P-95BM (Bandeirante Maritime Patrol), called "Bandeirulha", the Brazilian Air Force, crashed on takeoff at Campo de Marte in São Paulo, around 16h Sunday (9).

According FAB information, the plane suffered damage to the landing gear and the motor.

The two pilots and six passengers on board not hurt.

The pilots lost control of the aircraft still on the ground, during the start of the takeoff and the plane ended up falling nozzle on the lawn next to the runway.

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) — A Vietnamese military helicopter with three people on board went missing during a training flight Tuesday, an official and state media said, in the latest in a series of incidents involving military aircraft.

Online newspaper Dan Tri said the Eurocopter EC 130, a light training helicopter produced by Airbus Helicopters, lost contact 15 minutes into the flight and was believed to have crashed into a mountain 80 kilometers (50 miles) east of the southern commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City.

It said a pilot and two trainees were in the helicopter.

A provincial border guard said smoke was spotted at the suspected crash site, but rescuers have not been able to reach the spot.

KARACHI: A pilot of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was killed on Tuesday as his Mirage jet crashed near Karachi’s Musharraf Colony.

According to Squadron leader Baqir Ali, PAF Mirage jetbearing tale number 921 took off from Masroor Base, before it crashed near Musharraf Colony. The pilot died on the spot, police officials stated.

In a critical incident, an Mi-17V5 helicopter of Indian Air Force has crash landed near Mana Pass of Chamoli in Uttarakhand during a Army drill exercise of the Kumaon regiment at North of Badrinath, Joshi math sector.

A flight carrying Army troops became tragedy after a grenade exploded, apparently by accident inside the plane killing a soldier.

According to an army statement, "an explosion of ammunition provision of this staff showed up , forcing the pilot of the aircraft to an emergency landing in the Air Combat Command No.2 Apiay (Meta)".

An F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet crashed and burned in the desert at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms but the pilot escaped with no major injuries, Marine and county fire officials say.

The accident happened shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, according to preliminary information.

“The pilot ejected,” said Marine spokesman First Lt. John P. Roberts. “There are no injuries, based on the reports we have right now. They were going to take him to a hospital...as a precaution.”

The accident apparently happened while the plane was landing.

“The intial reports were that he’d already touched down,” Roberts said.

Details were not available by 10 p.m.

TIKRIT, Iraq, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- An Iraqi military helicopter crashed Saturday in Iraq's northern central province of Salahudin due to technical malfunction, a provincial security source told Xinhua.

The chopper crashed while it was flying near the town of Mkeshifa, also known as Dijlah, some 140 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Iraqi security force rushed to the scene, the source said, without giving further details about the fate of the crew.

The incident occurred as the Iraqi security forces backed by anti-IS coalition are carrying out a major offensive to drive out the IS militants from its last major stronghold in and around Mosul in northern Iraq.

Mosul, some 400 km north of Baghdad, has been under IS control since June 2014, when Iraqi government forces abandoned their weapons and fled.

A fire broke out Wednesday aboard one of several Greek F-16s that had been about to take off from the military base at Souda on Crete to chase away Turkish aircraft that had flown into Greek air space over the Aegean. No injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished before it could destroy the aircraft and the pilot was transferred to a military hospital for preventive reasons. An investigation was ordered to determine the cause of the blaze.

Two officers of the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) escaped with minor injuries after a military chopper on Thursday morning crash-landed in Masaka area in Kicukiro District.

Speaking to The New Times, the Defence and Military Spokesperson Lt Col René Ngendahimana said that the chopper had four crew members on board when it crash-landed in a field in Masaka.

“We are yet to establish the cause of the crash or the extent of damage to the aircraft. The helicopter was carrying out routine patrol activity,” Ngendahimana said.

Mayor, a former police spokesperson, and 3 other passengers were brought to the hospital for "minor injuries," according to the military.

Two military jets based out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar collided Wednesday over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego, California.

One pilot was found in the ocean while the other landed safely at Naval Air Station North Island.

A helicopter of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces made emergency landing in central Ghor province of Afghanistan.

According to the local government officials, the incident took place in Feroz Koh airport soon after the helicopter returned from a combat mission.

The officials further added that the helicopter made emergency landing due to technical issues and there were no casualties reported in the incident.

Provincial police chief Gen. Mustafa Mohseni said the helicopter had participated in a combat mission in the north of Feroz Koh district.

A Russian fighter jet crashed in the Mediterranean Sea shortly after launching from its aircraft carrier near the coast of Syria Sunday, two U.S. officials told Fox News.

Three Russian MiG-29 fighter jets took off from their Soviet-era aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov, and flew in the direction of Syria. Once airborne, one of the Russian jets appeared to have mechanical difficulties and turned around in the direction of the aircraft carrier.

The Russian jet splashed down in the water while attempting to land. A Russian rescue helicopter picked up a parachute and the pilot. The pilot's status was unclear, U.S. intelligence officials said.
