It was never said any declaration of war on both countries is an automatic trigger for alliance members' action unlike article 5 of NATO charter.

Boustead and CSOC to build Navy vessels

BEIJING: Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS) and China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co., Ltd. (CSOC) will build the recently-announced Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) vessels purchased from China, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein disclosed yesterday.

Under the deal signed during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's ongoing official visit to China, Malaysia is buying four littoral mission ships (LMS) from China. Two vessels will be built in China and another two will be made in Malaysia.

"Although it is a government-to-government deal between the ministry and its China counterpart, at the end the day (BNS) and a company designated by the Chinese, CSOC, have been identified," he told Malaysian media here last night.

Hishammuddin said the LMS purchases were off-budget and did not involve additional allocation as it would be financed by savings from the RMN's own internal realignment of resources. "The decision is made by the navy.

The money is coming from the navy from the savings. So it is a win-win, creative solution," he added. Hishammuddin said this was an out-of-the-box thinking by the RMN to acquire defence assets in a cost effective way.

"This (deal) is historical for us in the ministry and I believe that if it works or well, we can go further from here," he added.

it should more low tons like 450 tons 60 meter. enough carry 30 crew, weapon only with 25/30mm gun + 2 x 12.7mm navy gun + 2 RHIB
cost just about usd 20-30 mil, Daman/Austal or other country plenty of this type to patrol boat, and it design optimization operation & efficiency。

Duterte: Misuari wants amnesty for Abu Sayyaf

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte revealed Tuesday that Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founder Nur Misuari wants to include the Abu Sayyaf Group in peace talks with the government.

Duterte added that Misuari also wants amnesty for members of the terrorist group.

"Si Misuari, I've been waiting for him but he seems equivocal because 'yung proposal niya ngayon, pati 'yung Abu Sayyaf, isali na niya at pagdating nga panahon kung magka-okay tayo, isali natin sa general amnesty," Duterte said in a speech before more than 400 Marines during a camp visit at the Philippine Marine Headquarters in Taguig City.

Duterte said he rejected the proposal outright. He said he is willing to drop the talks with Misuari altogether if he insists on bringing in the Abu Sayyaf.
