Hi guys, quick question.. It's time for my car to do 80k mileage maintenance. Previously maintenance cost me rm1k+ at proton sc. sad.gif(((

Below is the list of items serviced (major service at mileage 70k)
Attached Image

My car using fully synthetic oil, this was recommended for me as a sales person who travel a lot within kl-selangor-Melaka-Johor. Average about 100km+- per day.

No more warranty, and guy from proton said 80k will be a major service as well. I guess it will cost a bomb again. sad.gif((
Can sifu advice? Any recommended service centre or workshop I can look for? Proton saja, mahal lah T-T

Hi Guys, my Saga FLX rear lamp no light when press on break. At first thought it was the break-lamp burned out. But, technician said is the 'mother-board' for the lamp got problem. Just change that 'mother-board' will do, no need change the whole lamp.

Anyone know where can i buy and get it fix in KL or selangor?
That workshop do not have stock and need to order which takes 3-5 days. I am going to outstation soon and i hope to get it fix ASAP. Any suggestion?

FLX rear lights are LED, so if 1 side not working is the LED driver inside the light assembly problem. Your other side of the brake light and 3rd brake light still works?
*
Hi! Many thanks for your reply!
Driver side's brake light is fine and 3rd brake light is fine too. Went to a workshop to check and the guy said just need to buy the 'mother-board', it is rectangle shape located inside the lamp. It cost about rm140, instead of buying 1 new lamp cost about RM200-300. I went to several workshop, all suggest me to buy 1 new lamp, and that so called 'mother-board' is no sell. Any advice? confused.gif

Not sure the right way to describe, I usually pull up 45° to remove it with the cable attached to the bulb to assist removing.

However I feel installing d new one is not as easy as removing it.. almost the same way to install back just the opposite way..

removing is easy, just twist and pull. installing back depends on luck tongue.gif
*
Thanks for the advice. I have tried but still unable to remove it. LOL
The design is special huh? I've watch several tutorial on youtube, most very easy to remove by pull out the spring/hook.

dont pull out, pull up first. plug back the cable to the bulb, apply upward vertical force to the plug. the bulb will disengage from the hook/spring/holder. like pulling ur house main switch upward... ahaha

later i try! biggrin.gif

HI all! I have an urgent issue here. My gaga flx cannot start engine. The first time use my remote to unlock my car, only sound can be hear like “beep beep”, but car is still lock. So i manually to unlock the car.

Once plug in car key to start engine, i can only hear “tak tak tak” sound.

What should i do? Is it battery problem? Shall i call battery guy to change battery only? Or is there other issue as well?

And also, can recommend me a reliable and affordable car workshop around klang valley? (Im using fully synthetic engine oil)

I once heard of cases like this where the brake tend to like drag the car forward. If i not mistaken, its ur crossmember bushing / arm bushing etc. Something related to handling thingy.

Take it as a 2cent opinion..im not really sure.
*
I see. Will definitely get it check. Today raining whole day and road were very wet. Nearly kiss the car infront of me, press brake hard still couldnt stop on spot, just slow down, sterlling vibrate abit and with loud sound. Sound like tyre pijak alot of stones.

Fuel consumption for my saga are very high nowadays. Full tank can only last 300km+-. Is this normal? I don speed alot pun

go visit sc
or give us your location, maybe can give some reliable workshop.

p/s: 100k+ mileage and never change brake pad (at least that what i suspect)

My saga flx is about 5yrs now, no more warranty. My location is in OKR. Can recommend reliable brake expert workshop? Around klang valley or PJ also can.

I had my brake pad changed twice in Q3 last year and early this year. Previously i told the workshop the same issue, they said because of the brake pad surface imbalance so suggested to change it. After changed problem still the same, and then they said need change brake pad again because surface not balance. Urgh =_=

It is a lot of work. You basically servicing CVT + Timing belt / Water pump + Tensioner. Check the service manual to see if they all have to be done at one go. This way you may able to delay some the spending (but you may pay more for labor later).

Is the workshop using Proton original parts or OEM? If original, maybe it worth it. Proton parts are no longer affordable these days.
*
Will give them a call to verify whether it is Proton's original parts or OEM. I think most likely will proceed with all the services altogether. I don't think I have changed any of this in these few years (first bought it in 2013), except the timing belt and CVT.
p/s: lady driver here, didn't really keep track of the service every time. sweat.gif

New update: cvt and tensioner are ori proton. But timing belt is oem (Gaido). Should be ok to proceed?

If you are DIY person, Air filter buy online generic brand RM12, generic cabin AC filter RM10, waterpump last time i changed mine RM90-100 GMB brand; changed together with timing belt..
Coolant i bought Toyota Longlife from spareparts shop, RM25*2 + RM5 for 5L filtered water for flushing and dilution.
Valve cover gasket around RM100 parts+labour. Engine cap i buy online RM4 for the silicone rubber ring, use back existing original cap, pull out the harden rubber ring.
If your tensioner bearing is using black plastic roller, make sure the fan/V-belt is 6pk1669 NOT 6pk1677, 1677 too long, tensioner will spoilt faster..
Spark plug wise instead of normal cooper, i use NGK G-POWER platinum, bought from shop around RM60-65, install myself..haha

After replacing CVT fluid & CVT filter, oil leveling and Clutch adaptation for the cvt gearbox is a must.. if foreman say no need, think twice whether to proceed or not... if foreman said no issue one or conti car only need to do such steps, cabut cepat2....hahaha....
RM145 make sure the CVT filter is original from Proton or Punch powertrain...

I'm a lady and yes I love to DIY. Haha, but I worry bad things happen lar. Anyway, really appreciated your advice and guidance. Maybe next round I can try myself. XD
Thanks everyone! thumbup.gif
