I wish to ask for advices.
my 2008 Proton BLM today starts seeing the Battery red light on my meter panel!!! i saw it few months back amd i chanhed the battery and the red light was gone.
now i see it again.
Can pals here pls give advices?

Solved.
it was the alternator problem. not charging the battery. meter shows only 10 instead of 13-14 reading.
Symptom of failing alternator - weaker headlight, battery red indicator appeared on meter panel, and most importantly the engine seemed to slow or stalled at times at near idle speed such as when parking the car.
changed to APM alternator as it was cheaper than ori proton one. total rm560.
now the air con is chilly, blm is more responsive and more power.

For recored purposes and to share the cost of replacement of parts.

Proton Blm. 2018.
just changed alternator. rm580. lights and air con are very strong now.
also changed sanden air con compressor. rm680 also. yet to fully test it but the crocking sound us gone.

now can turn 1 point lower and still as cold. of course also very quiet and not hearing any noise from the air con system.
also maybe of the new alternator, my blm seems to move with ease wuth no tensions or drags (kind of pulling feel) from the electrical systems.
...added.... this morning, day 2, the car feels like always wanting to race, with good power surging!!!??? i wonder is this real???

very TRUE. my 2008 BLM fc is at 7.2 km/ l since day 1. i would not buy this older model. but the car chasis is really good.

btw, ron 95 is cheap jow at 1.38/ l. i wonder how much to fill a full tank from the red line on the metre?

Want ti ask about Saga BLM 2008 fuel tank capacity.

I fill up around rm40 and the tank is full.

Is it normal? I ask bcause the manual says the fuel tank capacity is 40 litre and so a full tank should be around rm80?

Please help to explain.

manual says 40L capacity. but I always get full tank (while yellow light is on) with rm40 +-

Fuel consumption is still bad. 1 L gets 6 to 6.5 km.

Thought of changing the Oxygen Sensor, cleaning up carb and butterfly valve. Not sure can improve fuel consumption or not?

No bro. my BLM is powerful with good handling. Lat time there was slight smell but now all good. except, the fuel consumption is bad. I measured again, rm42 for 125km. hope I m correct to estimate it. each tike when I see yellow blinking light, i normally can fill up with rm40. after 125km, yellow light is on.

My foreman advised me and I have changed the battery, fuel pump and wiring checked. All done. It was because the fuel meter got faulty and the bars kept going up and down and yellow light kept blinking. Now all seems settled.
Yes, after all the changes, the meter bar drops 1 bar by 1 bar and seems OK. But when the yellow light comes up at 125KM, suddenly the light is gone and meter went up to 2 black bars. Headache for me le.

So, for the last 3 rounds, I filled up full tank, rm 40-42 when the yellow light blinks, at 125KM. Quite consistent readings. Not sure what happens. BTW, was my measuring method correct? Fill full tank when yellow light blinks - rm 40-42 at meter reading of 125KM? What would be the fuel consumption? I think it is about 6.5KM per litre?

how much did you pay for the meter console? I think a used set is more than rm200? but a used set will show high mileage ?
