usually the service center does it. for me, just check the level every onw & then to ensure it's still within the allowable range.

Yes overkill but usually once a month is justified. I started this when wife got pregnant. But hey having a child is our resposibility to ensure their safety right? Deswai i still continue doing it.

Do people still use regular water for their radiator these days?
Get some legit coolant, prevents rusting and better efficiency too, don't have to change so often.

never put water, going to ruin your radiator especially for newer modern car
always use coolant. coolant also cheap now
or during emergency can use distilled or RO water....dont use tap or mineral water, even worse

heed my advice

as long as its between full n empty level its fine. can add bit of water once in a while coz its normal for the level in d coolant reservoir to drop a bit.

but dun add too much tho coz once the engine is on n heats up, it might over flow out of the reservoir. there is a tube coming out of the reservoir just for that purpose.

I hope you dont just add water to your coolant. Long term, your water Pump will be rusty and engine will overheat. I already kena for my car. Long term it will affect alot of things around the cooling system, radiator, water pump, sensors, etc etc

Add "air suling" or de-ionized water + coolant with good mixing ratio

I open the hood every 5000km and just before and after service to monitor only. My car 178k km ad but never topup myself because service center will topup for me. The amount of water drop and fuild drop very2 litle only la if your car in good condition. No need to paranoid to check everyday.

Service center use tap water only to mix with coolant. No need to use distilled water because the coolant itself act as antirust.

Florescent  green... no change. Honda's coolant should last up to 200,000km / 10 years.  thumbup.gif

In fact, mine is due for a complete change. Haven't hand any free time yet to do it.

Do people still use regular water for their radiator these days?
Get some legit coolant, prevents rusting and better efficiency too, don't have to change so often.

Bawah pokok mechanic will tell you different. Don't use coolant, say will eat the metal

It's the job of the ppl who service your car, btw u don't need to directly add water into rad, just add into the spare tank, it will sucks water in itself when it's cold. When hot pressure goes up, no water coming out but water can goes missing, when cold pressure lower than outside, will sucks water from tank.
