I've had a whatsapp bug since using the iPhone 7 Plus from day 1 (iOS 10) so here's hoping 10.2.1 will finally solve it...

Battery draining is getting serious at iOS 10.2.1
*
Day 3 into iOS 10.2.1, and no abnormal battery drain to report. All seems good to me (iPhone 7 Plus)

My data always on and I don't find any differences in previous 10.2 and now 10.2.1

I don't have battery drain issue on iPhone 7 Plus.
*
Ya, same here. No difference between 10.2 and 10.2.1 in my opinion too.

sometimes after you updated to new system software you need to let the phone settle down for few days then only you will see the battery drainage back to normal
*
Yup, the phone re-indexes after every iOS update which may cause unusual battery drain for the first few days after the update.

Those were the days. The Iphone buying experience.  thumbup.gif

You would not get to experience it anymore though.
*
The iPhone buying experience these days is more like staying up till midnight at home, logging in and then cursing at the telco or retail outlet's website servers...

if each 2 year launch premium okay.. IF they launch iPhone 8 when people still struggle to paid the iPhone 7 contract..  it will fall down of them.

In the end it just freakin phone, unless APPLE PAY supported in our country..Then  excitement will come again..

And also if  ios 11 . Eliminated  the 4s,5,5c support.. Then people would start buy again.

5s because it's 64 proc.. lower 32 ..
*
Two years is too long for a flagship launch, in fact new iPhone sales usually dip as early as 4 or 5 months after the launch. I imagine the sales would pick up the moment 5S becomes obsolete because many are still on the 5S as it is still a very capable phone.

Not sure if we'll ever see Apple Pay in this country though.

The problem was what feature they want to put more ?  The most reason i said this.. WHERE march event. Why sudden in
A lot of people waiting new  product line  like old mac mini (maybe RIP), macbook air(also maybe RIP),apple dustbin , ipod touch.. (Still usable because 64 proc)..
*
You know Apple la, they will put in some features that other phone platforms have had for years e.g. wireless charging but they will market it as though it is a very impressive new feature....

The other product line that has RIP unofficially is the iPod biggrin.gif

Currently my iPhone 5 is on IOS 10.2.1
The IOS 10.3.1 to download is 404.5MB.
*
Ya, from 10.2 to 10.3 is a big jump in terms of file size, but after the update there's more available free space. Thumbs up to Apple! smile.gif

This is an Iphone 5 16GB updated to IOS 10.3.1. Suprisingly, the available storage was reduced by a little contrary to what was reported. Do take note this is a fresh iphone with nothing stored inside except the FW and minimum apps.
*
The 5 hardware doesn't support the new file system? Hmmm, don't know, but I checked most other forums and majority said the had space freed up with the latest update to 10.3

QUOTE(JC @ Apr 10 2017, 02:39 PM)
Hi I want to tell that I ran some tests and found that the auto brightness in iOS is the cause of battery drain, turning it off and setting the brightness to 40% or 50% increases the battery life tremendously.
*
I think this is true for most phones. But at the moment my phone gets me through the day, so no battery tweaks needed yet smile.gif

Thanks for the tip though thumbup.gif

These tiny updates are taking a long time to install these days. My phone's got unusually hot while it's installing the update

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ May 16 2017, 12:27 PM)
Downloading the updates is slow. Maybe because everybody is downloading at the same time. No problem with heat during installation on my phone though.
*
Mine downloaded in 5 minutes, about 195MB or so. My phone didn't heat up during installation either.

need help from sifus here.. my iphone 7 updated to 10.3 without prob last night via software update. problem is, my spouse's iphone 6s plus on 9.3.2 won't update since last week (was unsure to update earlier don't know why). when try to update via software update, it says cannot verify update due lost connection to internet. when try using itunes, it says 9.3.2 on iphone is latest software hence it won't download nor install any update. any solution on how to handle this prob?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

Just a quick check first, is your spouse's phone a first hand official unit that has never been jail-broken before?

Already bored with U11? Why, what is no good? Coming back to iOS?
*
No la, never left iOS. Still keep my iPhone 7 Plus just that sometimes itchy wanna try new Androids. I lasted three weeks with the S8 but big part of it was because I was trying to figure out how to get my WhatsApp notifications to work properly, ha ha.

The HTC U11 is a good phone. Faster and less problematic compared to the S8. Just that it's boring, ha ha...

iPhones are not interesting or exciting. But they are by far less frustrating biggrin.gif

So do you recommend U11 for current Andriod phone compare to S8, or stick to iP7?
*
Well, I think it's a better value for money phone if looks is not a priority. 6GB/128GB at 2799 (new set @ Lazada). But you can't go wrong with the S8 too. Well, that's my personal opinion.

I don't compare iPhones to Androids, they are just different.
