topic...i am new in this and i am currrent on nikon digicam 7 MP

but u said d80 was costly, it leaves only d40,50 n 70s? for photo events, lenses would be more important, good aperture, tele reach, etc.. going into the world of dslr-ism requires a hefty investment. if u're not ready for it, it'll be hard

I would recommand D80 or D70s with 18-70mm F3.5-F4.5 if ur budget allow.

get D50 or D80 with kit lens to play around 1st then only think which lens you needed the most.
