Those members selling things in garage sales didn't put up selling price, instead just put "offer me". This tends to attract a lot of stupid "PM me your best price please" request from other users, leading to countless indirect bumps. This is very unfair especially to those members who had put in expected price. Although some of these threads also will attract those stupid request, but it will be lesser.

I don't understand why those interested buyers don't want to PM seller and ask for best price, but must post them in the thread?

Why don't we set up some rules stating that those who post "PM me best price please" will get a warning?

No, we should actually require the sellers to list down the price, and not to ask the potential buyers to PM regarding the price. Is not the buyers fault, is the sellers.

We're trying to eliminate half of that problem by outlawing "UGPM" posts by the seller. We can't entirely stop buyers from asking questions in threads. We do not however allow "free bump for you" posts.

I think if there are rules where we require sellers to put all the details up, including the price in their threads, and not "PM me for the best price" or whatsoever, might help. My 2 cents...

Most seller never list their price there because they want to quote according to the experience of the buyer, the more unfamiliar the buyer is, the higher the quote will be.

I'm not really inclined to outlaw that yet. There's too many rules now and we already have trouble making sure existing rules are followed.
