They made announcement that Samsung Note 7 are not allowed to switch on or charge inside the aircraft.

Doesn't allow to switched on doesn't means kena ban. Doesn't allow onboard means ban.

Nothing, if it is going to explode, it will explode on first few charges. And there are two manufacturers for the battery, China and Japan. I think we got the China one, almost all of the exploded ones from Japan. Maybe tengah manufacturing when earthquake strikes.

I read a few pages in the thread, owners there are quite optimistic

there will be a short time window once the bad batch is replaced. but the people still unsure and dun wan buy. hopefully dat time the price go2 down~

but once the fiasco is over price will normalize then it will be too late.

very interested to buy also if price cheap2 hehe

Price will only goes up, won't go down, given the MYR vs USD getting higher nowadays. It is not like Samsung didn't recall, like iPhone claw of death case. Samsung replace the whole market with new ones.

switch to aircraft mode should be ok
no signal going out and in to interrupt the airplane signal

Only during taxi, take-off and landing. Other time free to switch on and use.

That one i understand but kalau lepas announce pon nak bukak jugak serupa jugak dgn org buta dan pekak.... Sudah beritahu dan tunjuk pon masih degil nak pakai. Lets face it.... Onboard the aircraft after the safetyvideo shown.. How many still using their handphone and texting? In my experience no one listen or watching the safety video and announcement because busy with whatsapp and other smartphone application.

Gua pegi kerja tiap kali naik flight bro. Bila announcement suruh tutup handphone dan safety video shown semua buat pekak dan buta je. Semua masih lagi main handphone. So x salah gua label diorang buta dan pekak. Flight mode dgn switch off pon x tau beza. Most of them think putting it on flight mode is ok. Without knowing it must be put into flight mode before switcing it off.
