littlegreen, you seem to already have a mind in what you want or something.
i think it's no point for US to tell you want you should get already. the choices are clear, D40 or D80 - they're both good. D80 you complain pricey, D40 you complain lense issue (not that it really has lense problem). the funny thing is here you are complaining D80 expensive yet D40 you talk about changing lenses - which could add up to the same amount. so my suggestion to you is 1. tell us your budget for your initial setup. 2. tell us the lense range that you intend to get over what period of time. QUOTE(shinchan^^ @ Jan 29 2007, 05:08 PM) just that u cannot use the AF lens correct me if i'm wrong ShinChan sifu, but AFAIK you CAN use AF lens on D40. just that only the AF-S / AF-I will work with D40's auto-focusing but not the AF lens. reference : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/363309/+200 This post has been edited by goldfries: Feb 2 2007, 04:40 AM |

yeaps u're right...lenses that u cant use are most of the primes and 3rd party lenses. gives u a limited choice. u'd be better off getting all the big guns like the 70-200,17-55,105,12-24 but if u had that much money, i'd suggest getting d d80
as u said, littlegreen, a budget! |
