1st gear for normal cars, max red line around 50km/h straight go to 5th, turtle like u said
The best way is to rev to the optimised powerband then u shift gear, I heard it saves fuel because your car has enough torque to move already, the momentum is there so less working on the engine on higher gears
*
You means the gear shifting like automatic gear concept??
let the gear fully utilise the power, then change to higher gear??
then save more petrol??

L -> 2 -> D

for auto~ but that's suicide~

wad do u mean by suicide? fc high? i always do that le. quite fast accel.

what makes you think it will damage the engine n gearbox..
every gear is independent with different ratio.

Skipping gear from lower to higher wont do any damage.. provided ur engine has enuf torque to handle it.
Its different when downshifting.. too much speed for the gearbox to handle.. and tear and wear to the clutch if the engine speed is not syncro to the engine speed when the clutch is being release. biggrin.gif

juz my 2 cents
*
will double clutching help?

Double clutching also wont help .. u need to sync the engine speed with the wheel speed to minimize the friction during downshift.

Autogear are not meant to ride that way ... will damage the torque convertor i guess.. not quite sure for auto thou.. but my fren use to do that all the time... his wira 1.5A.. end up .. during normal drive... if he put to 'D' .. the car will move with its 3rd gear... lolz.. it juz wont shift itself anymore...

If you're that lazy, might as well drive a auto.  yawn.gif

I do NOT jump the sequence when accelerating but i do jump the sequence when decelerating, especially from a high speed.
*
i do it the other way around, especially once i hit cruising speeds. my usuals are 1>2(hit 3k rpm) which is roughly 50kph>4, then maybe 5 for cruise

or 1>2>3 (hit 70kph)> 5. if i'm planning anything higher than 100, then i go with the sequencing.

however, when downshifting, i prefer to go in sequence, and controlling both the clutch and brakes, cause i'd rather not have my engine scream tongue.gif

Just do like Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson do, 5th gear from static biggrin.gif
can PM me about that? I've heard this before

this is it http://youtube.com/watch?v=sp6VQpG8CRE
take a look at about 2.20 minutes
it can go from static to 175mph (it's in MILES...lol) in ONE gear... lol
Corvette Z06 ... nice her...

damage a..didnt know..i played with it cuz the gearbox and the engine r already dying.
now my dad jus changed the gearbox n engine..so no play play le..
how to sync engine speed with the wheel speed?
and how to shift without clutching? can any1 post some links?

what I meant is you only shift gear when ur rev meter reaches to a point where ur torque is at the optimum level

for example, my Wira 2.5Krpm-3Krpm the torque comes, then shift loh

Yes sir, I knew

2.5Krpm-3Krpm the torque, It is most standard range for Proton wira
however, whould let the engine sreaming too noisy, right? flex.gif

neh, that range it won't be that noisy....no one will complain XD
Unless u always 5K revs and above tongue.gif
If you mod, then the sound will come ler at that range
