How much did you saw? I saw at Viewnet selling for RM2950 last week. I think it supports full 1080i as I ask the salesperson there. Maybe need to wait a little more till the price nea RM2500 or lower... Hehehhe

Startec selling at RM3,099 Both Viewnet and Startec were selling RM3,199 a while ago. Hardwarezone's Viewnet price list is OUTDATED .. tongue.gif sorry .. RM2,500 is the current 24in Dell monitors with no picture enhancement engine nor HDMI but inclusive of delivery charge lah.

Confirm the model is a 1080p monitor - Native 1980x1200 (more than 1080p actually). RM2,950 is okay .. wait for it go more mainstream and further price drop will occur. smile.gif this is an ideal gaming/computing display. LCD TVs are not computer displays (the resolution is too little for the size) biggrin.gif

For me TV is still the best best. I tried playing PS2 console on my brother 20" WS LCD monitor it just don't feel right. Maybe it because the LCD is a cheap DELL widescreen with no enhancement whatsoever.

However I once played the XBOX 360 on a HD LCD TV and the picture is damn great (played in a game store). Maybe I'll buy a LCD TV if i got money to buy PS3 or 360 or Wii

I planned to get this initially, before scrapping it altogether for a better investment for the future kinda HDTV. 1080p at that small screen , might as well use microscope to see the difference. If you're using it as a PC screen, then there are significant differences at its maximum resolution, but icons and texts would be tiny.

If you want this monitor and can wait, check if it has the updated firmware that have 1:1 pixel mapping feature.

If i'm not wrong, you can check outside the box for its manufacturing date. December units and onwards should be fine as reported.

Actually icons and texts are still abit larger on the 24" LCD @ 1920x1200 (8900 pixels / sq. in.) vs 17" LCD @ 1280x1024 (9300 pixels / sq. in.). icon_rolleyes.gif

I know coz i've used a 17" lcd, then 20" widescreen lcd and now a 24" widescreen lcd. Out of the three, the 20" had the smallest text. tongue.gif

I second that. Monitors are made at 16:10 while HDTV standard are at 16:9. mellow.gif
