Anyone here play SMITE by Hi Rez Studios?

SMITE is a MOBA in the form of an action game, objectives are similar to Dota where you destroy the enemy Ancient (named Titan in SMITE), but before getting to the Titan, you are required to take down strategic objectives in between - namely Towers & Phoenix.

Since Dota2 is the most widely played MOBA in LYN, let me just use it to easily summarize up SMITE:

0. Heroes --> Gods in SMITE
1. Ancients --> Titans in SMITE
2. Towers --> Towers in SMITE
3. Tier 4 Towers --> Phoenix in SMITE (these towers are the last defense before the Titan, can be destroyed, and revive automatically - hence the name Phoenix)
4. Creeps --> Still called creeps in SMITE. These buggers never change
5. Roshan --> Fire Giant, Bull King in SMITE. Different map have different AI Bosses and gives different rewards.
6. Runes/Pickups --> Camps in SMITE. There are multiple camps (with different creeps) that can be killed for damage boost, mana boost, gold or exp.
7. Hero Classes --> Similar. There is the assassin type, hunter type, mage type that corresponds to Dota's carry, support, tank, nukers, etc. If you have played MOBAs before you will get the hang in no time.

Objectives:
Different game modes have different objectives.
1. Conquest: Like Standard Dota (5v5) - you spawn at one end, the opponent at the other. You aim to destroy each other's titan.
2. Joust: 3v3 game that is like Dota mid only. You spawn at one end, the opponent at the other. Aim to destroy each other's Titan.
3. Arena: Quicker mode for PVP, starts at Lv3, faster exp and gold, 5v5. Ticket style ala Battlefield. If you die, your team loses tickets. If your creeps make it to the opponent's base, they lose tickets. Killing creeps also reduces tickets. Game ends when tickets = 0.
4. Assault: 5v5, one lane protected by two towers and a Phoenix. There is no jungle or neutral camps. Randomly picked God, and players are only able to purchase items while inside their spawn. Once they leave their spawn they are unable to return until they die.

It's FREE to PLAY but heroes need to be bought with in game currencies. It is possible to play for free but I recommend getting the ultimate god pack that unlocks the entire roster + new gods to come.

Finally something for Smite! So comparable to DotA imo but underrated.
Maybe could add Assault mode in too?

It's fun as hell. And yes, added more mode descriptions. I have to say SMITE is just perfect for a 15 - 20 min game rather than 45-60 for DotA games.

I play both, so it's a matter of my available time at that moment for me. Both are good.

Yeah totally agree, and I'd like to think the community isn't as toxic just yet lol.

Stopped playing a while back though because 300 ping is crappy, but the SEA server release is enticing

It is. I stopped a year ago and just started again.

The SEA server does lots of good.

Just to confirm a thing.
If i wish to play on sea server, do i just download the game from official server and choose 'SEA' as preferred region, or is there a separated version of the game only for sea player (as in garena hon and lol) ?

Cos even when i choose SEA region, when game starts sometimes the ping is 250+, sometimes it's around 100.

I like assault. 5v5 mid lane non-stop action.
But i will at least play each mode once per day to get the daily reward.

Weird, my ping stays at around 50 I think. I like Assault too but it's a pretty different meta from the rest of the modes.

Usually play Arena but I seriously have to go play the other modes.. Haha

Have you guys tried the new PvE for Odyssey? Almost drove me insane lol

anybody getting bad ping on Unifi 30mbps after the recent patch? Been getting at lowest 200+ ping even in SEA server. Anybody else experiencing same issue?

Does other apps/games play fine?

yes others are fine. it's only Smite after the Camazotz patch. How do I check the router? What would you suggest me to do? I have asked TM to reset the Unifi connection but still same ping.
