hi all, i still unable to decide to book for HRV 1.8v or Civic 1.8NA or Civic 1.5TCP. The only thing i like about the HRV is the magic seat and slightly higher view from myvi. And I read some hrv are facing the noise from the rear axle.

While for civic, i still feel skeptical about Honda turbo engine. lol. So far, may i know any civic mileage has been clocked more than 10k? and any issue has been detected? Plan to make booking by this sunday o latest on next saturday. Plan to get it as wedding car.

Thanks.

you can adjust the civic carseat height if you find it too low.
HRV V specs is almost civic TC price , go for civic . me same as you, gonna use it for wedding car.
u try sit HRV backseat, I think your wife will find difficult to go up and get down with gown

If too worry and 1.8 power is sufficient, then just get the 1.8 Civic. HR-V if you really prefer higher ride (Main priority).

Civic basically is better in specs, comfort, stability/handling & nvh than HRV. & you are comparing C segment vs B segment. blink.gif

Im not worry about the Turbo engine at all.. Turbo is nothing new & Honda produced their first turbo car since 1982 (Honda City) + i believe in the reliability of Japanese tech & soon will have accord turbo, crv turbo or may be city turbo? biggrin.gif

I just enjoy the power & enjoy my ride everyday.. brows.gif

I'm trying to get confirmation of this relay thing that you mentioned.
I hope to find it in the manual (although I doubt the manual will go into such technical details).

lol whats the different by flipping it, calculation still the same... the problem is i hardly move a kilometer in every drive and i jam like hell

i just literally sit in the car and playing with my phone for half and hour everyday for a short trip
*
You got your answer there. Even hybrid cars will not get good mileage if sit in bad traffic jam daily.

QUOTE(siawkk82 @ Oct 7 2016, 04:08 PM)
Yes, I am referring to the same source of maintenance table. If I compare it between the 1.5 turbo and 1.8 NA, it seems like it is more expensive to service the 1.8NA than the 1.5 turbo. That is the reason why I think the maintenance table is incomplete. I asked the salesman and my friend who juz got his 1.5TC 2 weeks ago, both of them telling me the same thing that the maintenance table is incomplete. On the service interval, the salesman did told me same thing. If the car always stuck in traffic jam, then the owner will need to service the civic earlier than the 10k interval.
*
Maintainance table is complete. They decoupled the cost of engine oil for calculation. Read the FAQ on the first post on how this works. Your salesman and friend dunno how to calculate maintainance cost ka?

For maintenance, you may need to go twice in 6 months e.g. 6000km need to go change engine oil (follow maintenance minder), then go again for 10k service. This situation is only for the 1.5tc engine.

There is a Malaysian owner who already hit 40K mileage on his Civic 1.5. No problems so far.

blink.gif why is it so expensive? mine was introduced by my SA.

Yeap, the 3M logo printed on the film. Anyway i only got RM 500 discount from my SA. sweat.gif Maybe i was the earlier batch i guess. (got the car on 28th June)

At least I think its called a relay [I am most probably wrong..] but its been around for ages..
I used to be like you n shut everyting before powering the car off.. but car batteries will die irrespective - eventually.. heck l dont tink its even affected by this leaving-everything-on-and-starting ting, at all..
From my experiences having different cars[from Myvi to wifeys Jazz n others], more like de different cars design, some [like the myvi - 1yr n 1 mth KO] just eats batteries n some hardly uses em[Jazz - 3yrs n changed it cos the SC said it was dying but not dead yet ..]
I dont think its in the manual.. thou'

just wondering do we have to schedule the service before the reminded pops up? let's say 100km before the reminder?

what if the service center is fully booked for 1 week or so? we have to keep finding the other sc?

I would suggest that you estimate yourself e.g if you normally drive 400km a week, and maintenence minder pops up with 1500km left, just book a date in 3 weeks to be safe. It's better to change before the oil life becomes 0 - warranty might be affected too.

I normally check maintenance minder once a fortnight on the oil life left.

Why don't they just change the oil filter along with the oil? it goes together anyway. Nobody so free to go 2x in 6 months

I don't understand your question? Oil filter is changed once every 2x oil change - oil change (maintenance minder A) and oil change + filter (maintenance minder B).

The oil change is following the maintenance minder, and the normal maintenance is once every 6 months or 10,000km. You may do both together, or do it separately e.g change oil at 7,000km and maintenance 10,000km, or do both at 7,000km when you do the oil change. Up to you, it's your money.

My maintenance minder shows that I need to change the oil at 10,000km, so I'll do it during my 10K service.
