QUOTE(nzh0920 @ Feb 17 2017, 03:36 PM) initial review after that day go touge batang kali to genting. just happen gohtong to genting rain, can test damp condition. I used to use S Drive and distinctly remember that it made a loud noise till I cannot take it that I had to change it. The grip is good but the noise is unbearable.1. more comfort compare to s drive , yellow line feel not as harsh as s drive 2. same damper setting , a lot more roll , just as i use hand to test the sidewall,it feel softer 3. the grip level might be around the same as s drive, i dunno whether the tire fully run in yet , but the limit seem much earlier than s drive, squeeze much earlier. new s drive don't seem to squeeze much. 4. wet/damp condition better than s drive when new, but not sure about aquaplaning resistance though my suspension setup guy suggest me to play around with the damper clicker to try first as he said this tire better than s drive, i will try to. for now if you ask me, I will choose S drive instead. After a few years, I finally decided to give another chance on the new S drive replacement as many tyre shops says it quiet. Well, just change 4 donuts yesterday. First impression was pretty impress. Not loud, nice handling and more comfortable than my previous tyres, RE050A. Anyway, will take my time to comment further but so far for the 2nd day, it has been quite good! |

QUOTE(gladfly @ Mar 21 2017, 09:41 AM) Just an update on this tyre.. Wow... this is alarming for a new tyre to blow out. Was the tyre normal as in no damage was inflicted to it? Say was the sidewalls scrapped?Sad to say I suffered a blow out this morning.. Happened during cruise at highway.. Luckily the stiff sidewall held.. And managed to cruise to my destination. Didn't know it blew cause it felt like hitting pothole.. In the middle of a highway ( should have guessed it by then) Anyway.. The outside sidewall blew with 2 puncture slits. No pics as I don't know how to embed. No bulge seen earlier as I just brought my car in for service last weekend. Age of tyre.. 3 months milage 5k Plan to claim warranty as I believe it's a defect. Not sure if yokohama will entertain or not.. Anyone here has any experience of claiming? After this incident.. Abit worried on the quality of the fleva. Blow out is quite a dangerous incident. |

QUOTE(gladfly @ Mar 21 2017, 10:51 AM) Oops I meant no bulge.. I just serviced the car last weekend and didn't see anything out of ordinary Didn't you hit any nasty potholes?Hard to accept that a brand new tyre would cause a blow out. It usually happens to tyres above 5 years or so. Also, Yokohama is not a sub brand. This shouldn't have happened. |
