Been quiet in MotoGP but rumor is FQ asking €20M to Yamaha for his contract!

He needs to defend his title at least once more before he can demand MM/VR/JL level salary. He is still a bit weak in wet races too.

MM reportedly has fully recovered from his eye problem. Hopefully ftom now on he can get back to full speed to fight the young guns and we can have an exciting championship.

MM seems happy and getting back to full fitness, hooe he will be consistently challenging for wins again to make an even more exciting season. IMHO FQ, FB, and all the younger riders need MM at full strength to prove their worth by beating him in full fitness.

Yamaha and Suzuki still predicted to struggle with top speeds if using big aero wings that Ducatti and Honda will be using this season.

The season has begun! Lol
FP1, Suzuki, Honda, and KTM were fast with Ducati surprisingly not so, maybe sandbagging. Peco crashed though hence languishing near the back.

Feel a bit missing of VR, strange feeling.

Suzuki and Honda look genuinely fast now but Miller on the Duc was on a real fast run until he roll off for some reason. Yamaha looks a bit behind for now.

Good race with a lot of unexpected results. Rarely see a fully fit MM93 beaten by his teammate and other riders too. He seemed to be unable to keep up till the end. Great to see different manufacturers in the top 5.
*
Ya before the race I thought MM would win cuz he was fast in all FPs and Q. Good that the new guys can beat him.

MM really struggling. 2 similar crashes in Q1.

The Hondas are all struggling now! Ducs and KTM look strong with Yamaha back like before with only FQ very fast.

Horrific crash to MM, got a concusion so out of this race. Hope he recovers soon but luckily nothing looks serious. It's obvious the Honda is struggling in this track and he was pushing over the limit.

Now heavy rain though...

Excellent win in the wet by Miguel Olivera and KTM leads constructor points! Not bad by FQ, starting to improve on his weakness in the wet. Surprisingly the Beast still leads overall but getting tight at the top.

Too early to say, but I do think he should consider retirement. In MotoGP Unlimited ep 1, he mentioned he need to take care of his body so he can ride for more years, automatically I think of VR, he is the guy who crashes the least in his career imo, that's why he can last so long.
*
But MotoGP needs MM cuz he is still the biggest star after VR left. He is still young also and in full fitness still the yardstick for everyone to beat. The young guns in a way should relish the fight against him.

I think MM had past his peak already due to too many accidents and injuries, he ain't iron man.
*
But to me FQ is not quite at the level of MM yet especially in the wet. FQ became champ when MM already injured too. But yeah I am affraid you are right that MM might not get back to his best form anymore due to his injuries.

I think we will see the championship won by different riders the next few years. It's very competitive and no one really dominates the majority of the races, some bikes/riders strong in certain tracks only. 2020/2021 we already see 2 new champions. This year could be the Ducati but I can't predict who yet, could be Peco, Bastianini or someone else. Heck, even KTM spring a surprise and win the championship.
*
Yeah would be nice to have another new champ.

I am not a fan of MM but I agree he is the only one who can match Rossi in terms of talent. Lorenzo is very good but not great, Stoner for me was just lucky to be at the right team on the right bike at the right time. I can't recall a single good track battle for him.
*
JL was a match for VR in the dry but not so good in the wet. CS maybe because his career was a bit too short but cannot underestimaye what he achieved on the Duc that noone has able to do, plus he topped it up by winning on another bike in the Honda, beating DP who was supposedly the established star there already. In terms of raw speed/talent maybe CS was even faster than JL.
