He was the Moto3 Team Airasia rider, if he is consistent enough he could clinch the WSS title,that would be an international achievement by itself, he is aiming for a Moto2 ride. Motogp is a far cry but never say never. Although if joining MotoGP just to make the numbers is quite pointless.

one thing weird is--- after so many years, stoner still looks "no problem" riding the ducati! He's still able to stay within the front runner group... How come?

Probably just natural raw talent, able to adapt quickly to reach the limits of whatever bike he's riding and blitz it! This was proven especially as he was able to immediately won a title on his first year in Honda, achieving similar feat as VR when he won right away after switching to Yamaha. A lost for MotoGP and us fans that he decided to retire so soon still in such top level.

Shoemaker a bit different, he was already getting old that time.

Well VR will still race for another 2 years, hopefully still at similar high level. But I think he will have his hands full with MV now, maybe even more so than with JL. 

MotoGP has been the Spanish playground for quite some time now. Italians are not doing well here, no one at the same level of VR yet. Even Biaggi back then was comprehensively beaten, IMHO no actually a close and entertaining rivalry if you ask me. Just the media tried to stir up the rivalry but actually VR rivalry with CS/JL/MM were much more intense and close.

If Stoner didn't retire too soon he'd probably become like Mick Doohan too
