Anyway doesn't really matter what they want to do in WSBK, I don't watch it much and that reverse grid in WSBK makes me more uninterested to watch. Just don't do such stupid regulation in MotoGP or F1 then I'm fine.

Alex Barros wins the Brazilian Superbike finale. Impressive for a retired 46 year old.

Btw JL opens his World Champion museum. Wonder whether and how he showcases VR there! laugh.gif

JL says Ducati is the Ferrari of MotoGP! He probably forget that Ferrari has not yet win any titles since 2007! laugh.gif

It's a close call, a lot of people shown improvements/consistency this season. I would even consider Hector Barbera riding on a gp14.2 and consistently in the top 10. Eugene Laverty has also shown some good rides.
*
I'd put MM as best rider of the year coz he had matured more in his race approach which won him the title this year despite starting with the second best bike behind M1.

Hahaha no way la, he's too old already. VR is only offered to test drive it like JL, nothing more. WRC champ Ogier is also offered the same by Toto.

On another news Wurz said F1 needs to be way safer so can race at 450kph to bring up more excitement, do you agree?
http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/wurz-f1-...50-km-h-861689/

IMHO not really. I agree more to another article before which said to make F1 more exciting is to make the cars more difficult to drive so people can see how the drivers need to fight the car.

besides my love for motorcycles, which is why i love motogp than f1. rider's technical experiences count significantly.

no offence, but imo f1 is more like 10% drivers effort, 90% cars.

we need to see more drivers' influence in controlling the machine.  smile.gif
*
Well car racing is like that unless you got all competitors driving about the same cars or just very few cars used by everyone like Indy cars, or Australian Supercars. The problem is the gap between the cars in F1 is bigger between the top team and the rest, hence more difficult for the drivers to bridge that gap up. Actually in F1, such case had happened many times, the Mclaren 88-90 was the most obvious example then come the Williams of the 92-97 and so on until now. But the thing that made F1 more entertaining to watch back then especially the 80s-early 90s was the cars were more raw, dangerous, and difficult to handle and that's why people were at awe when watching these 'heroes' fight to tame their F1 beasts.

Anyway car racing will never be able to match 2 wheel racing in terms of the human involvement in controlling their machine coz 2 wheel balancing on the edge is inherently more difficult, physical, and dangerous than 4 wheels.

Bring back manual gearbox thumbup.gif

Totally agree! And get rid of all those DRS & hybrid systems, make the car more mechanical and raw.

Wait until you watch endurance racing, the bestest & most unpredictable racing (be it 2 wheels or 4) biggrin.gif

10% machines, 10% efforts, 10% teamwork & 70% luck

But endurance racing for me is also too boring to watch coz too long!

I wish they add Suzuka back but probably not safe enough for MotoGP level.
Would have been awesome if Spa for once race MotoGP but probably also too dangerous and too long of a track.

Too dangerous I suppose.
ROC is already sometimes including bike racers, like VR & JL before, if I remember correctly. This year they have that Travis Pastrana.

They have rider representatives but they aren't racing bikes. Instead of different cars, it's different bikes

Ah ok, but then the participants will be much more limited coz more difficult for car drivers to race bikes.

Sepang MotoGP testing highlights:
Stoner was fastest! Then Dovi 2nd but JL down in 17th admitting he's struggling and a bit surprised. MV was pretty fast at 3rd while VR only ended up in 8th while suffering a headache prior to the test. Both Repsol Hondas also seem struggling a bit, MM said acceleration is one main issue.

So suddenly the Repsol Hondas shot up the ladder! So it's true what VR had suspected, those Hondas were just sandbagging. biggrin.gif And again MV was consistently fast, ending up the fastest so VR will really have another big challenge for him in the team. The Ducs also look consistently fast at least in the hands of Dovi & Stoner, and now JL is getting closer. Can't wait to the start of 2017 season, looks to be more interesting now! biggrin.gif

MV really looking strong so far. VR must be having a very close eye on him now.
JL looks to be struggling again.

Vinales topped all 3 testing season with quite a margin lap times, seems this year he could be dominating and crush everyone on the field... Waiting to see Rossi, Marquez, Pedrosa, and also Lorenzo feels helpless and no answer for his domination... Could it be like Stoner 2007 domination? Haha.
*
I don't think it'll be that easy especially beating MM. Even though MM was not the fastest in 1 lap but he was noted as the most consistent in producing consecutive fast race simulation laps. Note also that Honda looks to be in better shape compared to the last year during these tests. VR is also well known to be concentrating more on race pace instead of 1 lap raw speed as qualifying has never been his main strong point. Anyway this year should be very interesting indeed!

one thing weird is--- after so many years, stoner still looks "no problem" riding the ducati! He's still able to stay within the front runner group... How come?
*
Probably just natural raw talent, able to adapt quickly to reach the limits of whatever bike he's riding and blitz it! This was proven especially as he was able to immediately won a title on his first year in Honda, achieving similar feat as VR when he won right away after switching to Yamaha. A lost for MotoGP and us fans that he decided to retire so soon still in such top level.

But couldn't deny the Honda was the best and fastest bike during that period, just that pedrosa couldn't maintain the consistency to get the world championship... Yamaha bike only show raw pace during last 2 years...
*
Yeah Honda was the best bike on that year 2011 but not by a large margin and Yamaha fought back already in 2012 with JL winning the title.
