Mir simply needed to stay on the bike & unfortunately he did just that 😅

Amazed with how Morbidelli was simply in the zone & pulled away & defended in the last lap. Nakagami is slowly becoming Hulkenberg (until he learned to improve his racecraft, podium is just a dream).

Well yeah Mir did exactly what he needed to do which was to just stay on the bike and not take much risk. On paper actually M1 should still be overall the quickest bike but their riders just could not kept it consistent enough. This is a classic case of an underdog winning. I think nobody predicted that a Suzuki will win the title let alone a 2nd year rider! Despite the year started so open in the title fight, Mir becomes champ with a race to spare some more.

Btw Dovi despite so lack luster most of the year, still able to tie FQ on points and just a couple behind MV! This shows how consistency is the main importance this year.

Can't believe how FQ won 3 races, but let the championship slipped away like that, with the best bike on the grid (Yamaha won most races this year with 3 riders bar Rossi)...

FQ won 3, FM won 3, MV won 1, so Yamaha won a total of 7 races or more than half of races so far compared to Suzuki only 3 wins, KTM 2, and Duc 1. Mir becomes champ with only average 13.1 points per race or just 4th position!

Congrats to Mir. Great last lap battle for Morbidelli and Miller, made me cringe all the way. Time to focus on next year. Hopefully Crutchlow can help Yamaha a lot next year. Still don't know who's taking the 2nd Aprilia seat. My wish(ful thinking) is for HS55 to be the surprise rider. He's ridden the Yamaha and KTM and he is relatively cheap lol. Can spend the extra money on development.

They need a fast rider, maybe Bezzecchi can.

Another incredible stats I just read about Mir title is that he won with just average starting position of 8-9! Has there ever been an even lower average of other champs in the premier class or maybe this is a historic lowest!?

Surprisingly Mir only won once, with no pole, no fastest lap... I guess consistency is the key here.

It's like Ducati simply is not interested to win and Yamaha guys beat themselves out of the title and gave it away to him. He is probably the luckiest champ, more so than Hayden. Surely not a great way to win the title but a title is a title and it counts the same in the record book.

Yup. Title win a bit hollow this year without fans flocking the podium. The irony of MV joining Yamaha to win, but Suzuki beat him to it. Still got Moto2 and Moto3 to look forward to. It's really heating up.

Oh ya MV might be kicking himself too if he really thinks about it! 😅 Mir needs to end the season with a win in the last race to show that he is not just be so lucky, at least he will tie Hayden tally and win with more points margin.

Breaking! Honda 2019 has 12 or 13 wins, this year 0 win. Worst bike of the year, lol.

Honda and MM probably regretted that they tried to return racing too soon which worsen his injury. If he actually waited maybe another 2-3 races before returning, he might even still had a shot at the title.

Hmm cannot really be sure. Dr. Mir obviously a highly regarded doctor in the motorcycle racing environment with proven track records of taking care of high profile sportsmen. Of course his team could've made a poor job for once but until really proven otherwise then it's inconclusive. I hope MM recovers soon and can fight at his best again from race 1 next year. As much as I am bored of seeing him winning all the time, his talent and career should not end in such an abrupt manner.

Btw is it a coincidence that his name is the same as the new motogp champ? 🤣

I think MM will be on the grid. In Motogp riders timeline, it is already more than enough time to recover. Recover is one thing, getting back to optimum fitness is another. Hopefully he makes it the whole season next year(but please don't win too much lol).
