Typo in my previous post. They will refund the money if you don't win the auction.
About the story of people need to spend some money for repair I guess it's not something big. Before you buy any car you should do some research about the car first. In case of auction car you know that they car was confiscated (from smuggler maybe) and left in the custom warehouse or parking lot for quite some time (1 year maybe). If you don't want to spend extra money for repair buy a new car. If you want to test drive a used car go to used car dealer. Want a good price do a lot of reasearch (internet, forum, newspaper) hopefully then you can find the car that u want with a price that u want. |

QUOTE(howiechoo @ Jan 28 2007, 04:47 PM) my fren bidded a honda civic few years back...after winning the bidding for 25k, he need to spend arund 8k+ to get all things done... Did your friend inspect the car personally?no seat, no gearbox, no dashboard, even no pedals!! almost all interior is missing...and no forget even spare tyre also dun have,,and all the tools,,,engine need minor repair also.....akthough it's cheap, but imagine u bought a car with nothing inside and need to find those parts to fix...time, money, energy all wasted.... If he did, he should have expected the sum loh. But, the cars would be kept in store for a few more months. So you know lah, if the people inside want to 'pakat' with kedai potong, they've got hell lot of time to do so. Added on January 29, 2007, 12:34 amThey could have just organize a car auction. More efficient & transparent. But they opt for closed tender. And result would only be revealed 2 months later. Look! It's not like they have 1000 cars there? QUOTE(kb2005 @ Jan 29 2007, 08:17 AM) This in not lelong, is tender, it makes some difference as tender is you submit your price up, and then after some period then they let you know who is the winner, lelong = auction, which means, who win who will get the car straight, within 1 to 7 days the most. This post has been edited by vincent_ng86: Jan 29 2007, 10:18 AM |

lessons learned = get orang dalam
this is not to ensure you win but to ensure you submit tender for a good condition car...... |

before auction or tender, you are allowed to view there car and inspect. best to bring a mechanic to see the condition of the car. I went for few auctions already and tender. Some car conditions were good, some were not. So you have to clear the amount u gonna spend on it. However tender you dont have to clear and paid many things. for lelong , u gonna pay quite an amount. Some in lelong can be refunded, some no. they will announce it during the auction

Went today.
Viewing is still possible cos most of them are parked at the open air car park. Condition wise, generally below average. The good ones like a few S320L & E200k (those with reserved price above RM100k), don't know where they kept it. The CLK 230k quite good. The BMW 325i Sport 'enjin rosak'. RM5-10k to refurbish inevitable. |

The latest is the stock of VW and Mercs that were left at the port after the AP issue i think. Star reported it that if the importers don't want it will be auctioned off
