Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,5 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.53 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 4 GB
Need help because i wanted to update it to the new el capitan but to double confirm so i am posting here to ask for some advice.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201475Its up to you. For me I have upgraded and since its free but its up to you since ur hardware is also slightly older the performance might affected

I did have time machine so I backup often. I would suggest to backup just to be sure

It's best to do a clean install. 4GB memory is really bare minimum for such new OS.
