thank guys. I just accidentally found it at 1U just now and went to get the Samsung 1 year warranty.
The guy mentioned it does not cover battery (it is under accessories, so I guess it would be similar to cable and charger). Hope this clarifies your question  smile.gif

Thanks for the input, but really unfortunately that battery consider accessories [come on, since this phone have build in battery, non removable and crucial to the phone, how can it consider accessories ?? mad.gif ]

but given my phone less than 1 year already experience volume button not functioning , I think better to get the extended warranty pack

I guess it's their standard protocol adi. They don't want to fix 1 by 1 so they just replace the whole thing. Anything attached to the motherboard and rosak then they will say replace it.

Anyway I'll be switching so s8 I guess.

So i think it is better to get the extra 1 year warranty from samsung for RM99

by the way, anyone experience that whatsapp and wechat message only receive when you open the apps ?

With so many issues after the Nougat update, I'm now afraid to help my friend update his Note 5 as well.

Mine is still having problem with data connection despite switching SIM slots, and with so many issues I've been reading here, I'm no longer in a hurry to update the other one.  sweat.gif
*
I also have issue after upgrade to 7.0

Every time I save pictures from 9gag apps, it will not appear inside Media / Picture viewing app.
Need to reboot the machine only can sad.gif

So far the world around is to download an app < Re: Scan> to scan all the folder in the phone to get it updated.

Quite annoying.

Anyone experience similar issue ?

Please be aware that after hard reset, do not automatically restore all apps/games from the Google account. Nevertheless, I assume you have done that too....

Alright... thanks for the heads-up... I'll be on Mellow until the next OTA for Nougat arrives....
*
why after reboot do not immediately restore apps and setting from google account?

Because the Nougat OTA was tested when upgraded from "blank" Mellow N9208 firmware...

The Sammy Devs develop the OTA based on N9208 which is at blank state. Meaning there was no 3rd apps/games in the N9208...all stock apps... When they do the testing (before officially releasing the OTA), they can only test a few popular apps/games from the PlayStore...

Another reason is some apps/games is not 100% compatible with Nougat. So, it'll be better to hard reset after OTA and test N9208 without any apps/games for 72 hours...if after 72 hours everything is in order (especially energy consumption), then only we can install the required apps/games one-by-one to see their stability with Nougat and the overall performance and stability of N9208...

Thanks for the info sharing notworthy.gif
Indeed i let it auto restore first

then later i just wipe it clean clean again

but somehow , the annoying 'random notification sound' came back ,no choice but to wipe again
now so far so good

just the 9gag app saved image need to have the phone restart then can display the media collection view

No need to reboot the phone. Just wait a while and the saved pics will appear in Samsung Gallery.

OK, I don't use 9gag. Gonna uninstall it now.

Thanks Master

I was wonder how this behavior will come to live in Nougat
Hope next update will fix it smile.gif

I check on 3rd party battery [3900mAh] , selling at around RM45
Next I check for labor cost at lowyat if i provide the battery , they charge me RM100
If include battery from their shop, is RM150

Not sure about Samsung Warranty center, how much the battery replacement cost + labor charge ?
and also warranty from Samsung 3/6 months only ?

Is very hard to get a brand new Note 5 now, unless they still keep the old stock

Yup indeed. Perhaps the component is not as good as new as well , due to degraded over time

Last weekend i went to Samsung Service Center at Mines to get quotation for battery replacement.

The customer service quote me RM240 but the following condition is totally not accepted from a Service Center :

The warranty for battery replacement is 1 Month
After the procedure is over, customer need to accept the risk that your phone cover [front and back] may have its skin peeled shakehead.gif

maybe u can try to go to garden's branch if you're from klang valley

avoid sunway pyramid service center

run by ah bengs

went there 2 times.. the way they treat customer not really that professional but still okay lah

although they should try to up their quality abit

they get the job done but the face muka masam laugh.gif

regret going to sunway branch. should've straight go to gardens..
when i stepped into gardens one.. wah.. really top notch customer service quality

> greet
> say thanks
> offer alternative solution
> thanks again
> please come again

even you blow water test the phones there the staff still serve you well nod.gif
*
Wow , that is splendid

However, knowing from such feedback from Samsung, it is not encourage customer return for hardware replacement at all from official channel .

More like ask u getting a new phone .

3rd party quote me for battery replacement is RM200 + 3 months warranty, + they will not cover your phone cover skin will peel off etc etc disclaimer.

Samsung themselves only give 1 month warranty [not confident with their battery] ?

December 2015 till today. No change anything yet. Battery is weaker already but everything else seems to be working still. Hopefully can go on for many many years..
*
Same with me.
Battery getting weaker but still able to endure it.
However, the GPS locking is really annoyed. Out of 10 times, 7 times cant lock properly.

This only happen after I install monthly patch.

For 1 time, when I factory format, GPS is working fine.
Only after monthly patch come in, the GPS hardly can lock properly. sad.gif
