Demolish Langkawi’s eagle statue? Kedah to consult fatwa council




Kedah deputy mufti Sheikh Marwazi Dziyauddin said the state would consult the fatwa council if there are calls to demolish the famed eagle statue at Langkawi’s Eagle Square.

He said this when asked to respond to Perak deputy mufti Zamri Hashim who was reported by Berita Harian as saying that the construction of such a statue was “haram” and should be demolished...

They are not, they just do it to show they are more religious and know the religion better to get more followers to follow them. The way it is engineered, you'll have more respect and follow the words of someone that understand the religion better than you. They just exploit on the loophole.

In these situation, the religion did say no idolizing statue. Those that oppose to demolish the statue will be seen as not understanding the religion enough. Whether the statue is demolish or not, it's a win-win situation for these exploiter.

So, what your opinion about it, whether those statue suppose to be demolish or not? How about the cost of building those statues? It will be a waste of money? I mean, if the statues really to be demolish, then all the local town council will have to draw out the line for not building such statues on future so that it wont waste taxpayer money.
