Hi Maxis, would like to clarify the below on MaxisONE World roaming plans:

1) Does the plan get activated the moment we connect to the preferred roaming partner or it will only be activated when there's any activity like calls, SMS and data?

2) MaxisONE World will only be activated when on preffered roaming partner? So example in Singapore, if I connect to Starhub or M1 then MaxisONE World will not be activated right?

3) Can you tell me what charges will be incurred if this scenario happens? I arrive in Singapore, roaming automatically connected to Singtel, but no calls, SMS or data took place. Then I manually select to connect to either Starhub or M1. No calls, SMS or data was used.

Hi OKLY,

1) you can turn on data roaming or simply make a call or SMS to activate the MaxisONE World pass

2) It is only available for our preferred roaming telco partner.

3) There will be no active service detected when you do so.

** Please ensure that there is no mobile data based application is running in the background of the device, turn off data roaming and mobile data to avoid automation MaxisONE World activation.

Thank you

It will activate even with mobile data and data roaming switched OFF?

Yes. That's what I experienced earlier this year.

Took me

30 minutes to connect with their CS
5 minutes to explain that my One world charge was caused by voice mail
3 days for them to investigate
1 billing cycle to settle the amount

just turn off the voicemail then....

btw maxis, in that scenario, if he connects to StarHub (not partner), yet he used SMS (example), it will be charge in normal pay as use right?

Maxis Just to confirm... if I do not select Maxis preferred network in the country I am travelling, I would not be charged RM38 per day even if I receive SMS / calls?

Hi,

Yes, you're right. However, any usages will be charged pay-per-use.

Thank you.
