Do it. Sony's offering is still special, with their own design language (beautiful to me, but it's subjective), decent spec, simple UI etc.. Overall I would find it hard to find an alternative!

Hmm... Not cheap and only provides one port... Will be ok for those with only 1 usb device... But I would pay for an Aukey for myself, since I have so many devices that needs charging at one go.

Dreamy effect is caused by lenses that aren't clear. (ie. dirty, oily, smudgy, scratched etc).

If you always find yourself on the move a lot and need a 'quick' boost here and there, fast chargers will do good.

But in the long run, can't be that great for your phone's battery. I only use QC when I'm in the car since that's when battery drain > charging current most of the time (GPS, music, navigation, bluetooth audio, screen always on etc).. or sometimes on the plane when I need to quickly top it up.|

At home/work etc, I use normal charging port. (I'll swap to QC if I need to top it up quickly).

As far as I understand, Qnovo is on the phone side, so in theory it should work regardless of chargers you use.

It'll charge faster the lower your battery % is at. It'll slow down as your battery gets fuller. Also, charging speed is temperature dependent and it'll get throttled/slow down as it gets warm/hot.

You have about 51.6gb of storage to play with. I didn't take a screenshot of what space I had when I first got the phone though, so can't give the full number. Maybe take away 1-2 gb for apps etc?

Looks like the alignment for the SIM is not perfect.

Don't think it's damaged... looks alright, unless you sand papered the bottom part of the sim to make it thinner and damaged it?

The way auto brightness works on the XZ is different from previous Sonys. Not sure why the change.

Previous Sonys, on auto, you can still 'tweak' the brightness to give it a bias, meaning it'll be auto brightness +/- however much you move the slider. So if you find the auto brightness too dim/bright, you can set it to be brighter/dimmer, but still with auto.

On the XZ it seems like selecting auto will give you just that, auto. No way to tweak it to your liking and you got to like what they give. I find moving the slider on the XZ only overrides the auto and disables it. To re-enable it I'll need to switch the auto off and then back on again. At least, this is how I'm finding it to work. Other users do share your experiences.

Being on android, there are ways in which you can overcome some issues.

Are you finding the screen to bright? Or just that it changes a lot/fluctuates?

Don't you find the Z5P laggy? I couldn't stand the thing.. after so many resets and ended up using it in its bare basic for at the end of its life. LOL.

For me I am very happy with the move from Z5P to XZ. I even appreciate the lighter/smaller body. I only miss the ability to hot swap the MicroSD card. Hope Sony realises this and gives us this option in the future. Plus wireless charging would be good, with cars coming with wireless charging spot area + android auto, soon won't have to mount it anymore to be in sight.

Xenon flash, sadly not happening. Missed those from my K810i and K850i... But modern phones are as compactly packed as it is right now. Xenon flashes requires capacitors to store enough power for the flash, which takes up lots of space. Just like batteries, capacitor tech has not changed for many years. Unless Sony decides to put some high powered cree LEDs, then different story. LOL.

Additional step for no reason though. At least this USB otg's transfer speed on the PC iis pretty average. But the transfer speed to the phone is torturously slow.. that's where a USB 3.0 standard would be better than the current USB 2.0 but type C ..

No idea.. the performance was still unsatisfactory even after factory resets (after installing my apps and all of course). But the XZ is working really well for me so far.

Yeah man... those were they days when Sony (Ericsson) was really innovative with their designs and form factor.. coming out with different niche but special designs.. Now they're just a very conservative company struggling to survive in the mobile world.

Note 7 is indeed louder. But imo, the quality of the sound coming from it is also muddier, not as much clarity as what comes out of the XZ. Also, when in the standard watching a video position, the front facing speakers sounds better than the downwards/side way facing speakers. Also, while playing games landscape, with the N7 I tend to cover the speakers. No such issue with the XZ.

The last time I made the jump early on, the Z5 Premium had Bluetooth issues that was not fixed for months.
