Just that I'm travelling out station tonight for the weekend. If it's not now, it's Monday.

Yeah, it works for now, so it's good as a temporary solution until you find something nicer that suits your needs.

This case isn't hard at all.

It's soft flexible silicon type. But not that soft, still able to hold its shape.

You'll need a case man.

The back is very smooth.. I'm afraid that it'll one day slip off my hands.

That's why we're blessed to have the Dual SIM variant here with 64GB memory. Although I would have preferred the dedicated MicroSD slot as opposed to this hybrid nonsense.

That was on their product page, but looks like they all were sent out via Gdex.

When I was over at their office yesterday, they were preparing everything via Gdex from the looks of things. Even mine was sealed and had the Gdex consignment note.

Currently using my Aukey QC 2.0 wall charger. Only 1030mA. Gonna try my power banks etc as well.

I have installed Ampere and I'm doing tests now.

Battery is currently at around 80%.

With the charger I linked in my previous post, it was doing 1040 mA.

With the Aukey QC 2.0 10,000 mAh battery pack, it did 930 mA.

Now testing with Sony's own QC 2.0 charger (I got it for my Z3+ that was purchased from Singapore), and it's also showing 930 mA.

Unfortunately I do not have any QC 3.0 product on me to test.

Could be a % thing that's throttling, not sure.

I'll let my battery drain and do more tests later when the charge is lower.

It's ok, I will download 100GB of movies via wifi. That should get my battery % down a bit. LOL.

Is this confirmed or just speculation?

Anyway, battery now 81%, so will report in once 50% when I do the test.

LOL, no problems. Yes, I saw the XDA post, was just wondering if you read about it some where.

Regarding %, it was never an issue for the Z3+ nor the Z5 Premium. Both went at 2000 mA all the way till about 90% ish where it slows down.

I have disabled the battery care thingy, and it made no difference.

Now just slowly draining the battery to test at 40%.

Further testing.

Drained the battery to just below 60%.



After that started charging with my wall charger. Maxed out at 2120 mA.



It's now 63% and is stable at 1690 mA.

Latest update, 73% and it dropped to 1050 mA. Looks like there's some throttling going on based on the % of current charge.

Did it in a controlled environment to check what's limiting it, we know high temperature does affect charging speed, so wanted to make sure it wasn't holding back. Haha...




Edit: The metal back is working very well as a good heat sink.

LOL... yeah

My car's mobile phone holder is one of those long arm type so that the phone is directly in front of the air conditioning vent. LOL.

Speed dropped to 940 mA at 82%.

Picked it up from Daiso.

They have many different sizes as well, so very useful, especially since Sony's phone is water proof, so just put it on top for ice cooling. Haha... No throttling/slowing down, processor will run at full speed.

It's really weak. Weaker than the one I had on the Z5 Premium which was weak to begin with.

Compared to my wife's Note 7's LED, her LED on the weakest setting is still brighter than the XZ's LED.

Edit: This is as a Torch. Have not used it while taking photo (which gets a boost at times).

Origin of packaging isn't from Sony Mid Valley or from within the mall itself.

It's from the distributor Thorus Technology whose office is at Centerpoint South, Mid Valley City, which is around the area of the mall.

Coming from the Z5 Premium. Couldn't be happier with the upgrade to the XZ.
