A Lcd tv or projector is better?

xterminator, depending on individual. If watch tv (Astro) a lot, then LCD TV wld be a better choice as projector's bulb lifespan is short (average abt 2,000hrs). If it is purely for DVD, HD-DVD, BD or certain interesting programs (e.g. sports), then I would opt for projector.

For Astro, you need CRT. Its the best. It knows how to camouflage the noise and distortion.

My uncle use my projector to watch Astro... everyday, every night...
My lamp hours shot up in 1 month. And he is gonna be here for another 2 months.

Anyway... you need a so called dedicated area to have a projector but any corner also can have LCD.
There are more works to do to set up projector where as LCD just plug n play.
You get 4 times the size or more for projector with the same money you spent on your LCD.

A front pj is not a tv and even thou it can be used as one, it will not perform as well as a flat panel or crts... there are so many hassles involved ... totally dark environment ; longer start up and shut down time ; short bulb life span and not to mention de hassle of initial setup... de other displays mentioned are just plug and play...

BUT for de big screen experience ... well there is no substitute ... unless u can afford de 110inch plasma/lcd model la...

But the 42" LCD 100Hz only RM7,999.00

But damn syiok watching Blu Ray. So, if 110" I think we all heart attack die liao.

RM3000 will only get you a multimedia projector. So... projector is out. If you wanna spend RM3k only on the display... go ahead and buy LCD as CRT will only cost you around RM1k.

Buy the Sharp 52" LCD 100Hz...

Your home theater is superb....
Upgrade the sound system then it will be perfect..
