I'm looking to move into a low density guarded/gate community that (i hope) have decent security...

This opens up the opportunity for me to not install jail like grills on my windows and glass panel doors.

Hence I'm looking into stainless steel security mesh that also acts as insect screen... so I can open my glass door and let the air in without worrying about mosquitoes and such....

I'm interested in this brand ( http://crimsafe.com.au/ ) anyone knows if they have a dealer/agent in Malaysia? Or can suggest some alternative products?

These stuff seems very popular in Australia but not so much in Malaysia..

Another brand http://www.invisi-gard.com.au/

The only Australian product available here that I know of is this http://www.pantherprotect.net.au
Local address- http://www.panther-asia.com/#!contact/c24vq
But imho it kalah to this - very well made
While I don't have the mesh door (mine is glass) the frame is the same.

Wow.. nice mate!

WHen u say it kalah to this u mean crimsafe or panther or arxtech better?

Arxtech has their own security mesh.. and 2.4mm thickness wow... overdoing it.. not sure if its going to be too dark/dense... cause most of the Australian product i see is using 0.8/0.9mm thick strand.

Also, your secure frame.. you coupling it with security glasses? Cause I plan to do that... for small panel/windows ok.. for big panel glass door cannot cause would be too heavy.. they are going like 50kg per sqm sweat.gif

i have only seen arxtech and panther
i mean arxtech is better than panther
not sure about the ones you wanted to know about

not sure if yours going to be sliding or swing/folding doors but the ones Ive seen are swing type and for the panther you can see the hinges on the outside (if your door swings out). the hinges on the arxtech are fully concealed, you cant see it from either sides.

Im also not impressed with panther's installation compare to arxtech. ive seen it.
the construction of the arxtech is far superior imho. go check both out and you will know what i mean.
usually during fair, you can check both companies out
*
The house is gonna come with 2 sets of 3 panel sliding glass door. So this will be installed along side those doors cause otherwise its gonna be too expose/vulnerable...

The fully concealed hinges is a good catch... I have seen ppl install rear kitchen door that swings outwards with the hinges expose on the outside... 1 screw driver, pop the hinge pin and the entire door comes out.. sweat.gif

Thats a 2 panel?

5600 is decent price for a 2 panel.

A 3 panel panther would set you back about ~10k

*
Panther and Optima window also attends alot of expo events, heck almost all of them...

I actualyl find Optima to be quite good, decent pricing, good lockset (using ISEO)...

What is the price for optima brand for sliding door?
*
Glass or mesh?

Mesh is around RM10k for a 3 panel sliding.

Ofcourse price would differ based on alot of variable factors

I got mine installed by E Chan couple years back. Took them because of reasonable price, but there were some problems (came in the wrong color) and they had to redo it.

Mine is the magnetic mesh type. Starter to notice some bulging gap where the magnet strips are and also certain area magnets have lost their strength for some reason (I do not frequently dismantle them).

Overall though, ok for the price. For several windows, they installed terbalik but still usable so I didn’t make a fuss about it.

YMMV
*
What do you mean installed terbalik?!

That doesnt seem like a "small matter" to me wor

Coz there’s like mini doors on the screen that u can open to access the window handles. The placement was correct, but the orientation is upside down so it opens different direction vs others. But Still can access the handle since the opening is big enough.
*
Wow.. that would be unacceptable to me.

I'm trying to bypass all these issues form various contractor by engaging 1 single ID... let him handle everything (I'll end up paying more for sure) but then he will ensure all is done right and I dont have to waste time and effort coordinating between 101 contractors...

Sidetrack from but I did the same with my renovation contractor, and ended up screwing everything. Because many contractors only specialize in 1 or 2 things, so end up they sub out to the cheapest subcons who will bring problems. Maybe for ID and cabinetry it will be ok though.
*
Well he's kinda a reputable ID, won a few (local) awards here and there.

They have their own carpentry yard. And yes i have went to a few of their current projects to see the finishing, not just look at photos.

The only gripe was he is very resistant to certian ideas form me which he feels will "spoil" his art piece hahaha... like how I insist on fans he keep trying to convince me no tongue.gif

Sure cost a bomb! My friend introduced me to Mesh Secure (Majestec I guess) and I called David... so I quickly did measurements of the windows I wanted to install and roughly calculation it is at least 25k to cover all openings  sweat.gif but well not an official quote yet.Intermediate terrace house je, minimal windows versus semi-d or bungalows. He did recommend to install only on open and close windows while those fixed ones just go with secure tint instead... but looks a bit weird.

But on the side note, how's the quality so far? Build is good? I'm also looking for competitors to compare prices. My new home is a gated and guarded, will be fitted with alarm and CCTV so am thinking to grab these mesh instead of grill so it doesn't look like so "confined" with the metal bars.

These are the alternatives I googled in Malaysia...

https://optimawindow.com.my/arxtech/sliding...-security-mesh/

https://www.panther-asia.com/
*
I went for Optima/Arxtech combo...

Cause they have 2 in one solution, glass plus mesh with one single integrated frame, looks much neater...

Total damage nearly 65k,,,,

Glass plus mesh, meaning you changed the whole window? Instead of add on?

Hmm guess I will get all of them to quote me... and probably should wait for one of the fairs then see if any special deals.
*
Yes, changed the existing glass window as well. Got the laminated glass for my bedroom as it has very good sound insulation ...

Just ask them. :-)
Also, they provide sample to show.
Mine is 0.9mm SUS304.

I had similar mesh door in my previous house for many years, hence I roughly can know the difference.
*
0.9 is good.

I'm currently using 1.2mm feels too thick, visibility also affected...

Your 1.2mm mesh is Aluminium or Stainless Steel?

My previous mesh door had 1.2mm (or 1.3mm .. i forgot) but it is Aluminium.
The vendor said stainless steel has 0.9 or 1.0 mm only.
Anything thicker should be Aluminium and it will definitely make the room dimmer.

The vendor BS u.

" High Tensile Stainless Steel Wire Mesh .Industry-leading toughness and durability. Wire thickness of 2.4mm (1.2mm + 1.2mm) "
