Changelog (20170825):

Now based on TX8 Max OEM firmware (20170815), which apparently has support for both Qualcomm/Longsys and AMPAK/Broadcom wireless chipsets.
Some new options are available in Settings, particularly with Display and Dolby/DTS features in Sound.
The navigation bar is back. Just drag up from the bottom to show and hit the chevrons to hide.
Remote codes are no longer stored in the device tree, so Mouse Mode functionality is restored and you can customize the remote.conf.
Replaced Jack Palevich's Terminal Emulator with Terminal app from LineageOS, tweaking manifest so that it always shows in launcher.
Power button press-and-hold now shows both Power Off and Restart. Behavior for short-press is configured in Settings.

S905W is a cut down version of S905X, limited to 30FPS at 4K. Cheap box, though

normal user still worth it...

My GT1 is still on firmware version GT1_104MO.
To upgrade to the latest, do I have to upgrade version by version (105, 106, 107...) until the latest? Or I can jump straight to GT_111 before going to GT113?

Do I need to upgrade the firmware to upgrade Kodi 16.1 to Kodi 17.3

If using OTA. You need step by step update
And you setting still intact

If you want faster way .. you can download latest firmware and install using usb burning tool but you need doing again all setting to your box..

For kodi it up to you both also can used

Improvement:

1.The boot static logo has been updated .
2.The main page has been designed again , we have added some buttons and the right app icons to the main page .
3.The navigation bar and the status bar will be available for using again .
4.The system stability has been improved already .
5.We have also improved the stability of BT connection .
6.The problem that wifi can't be used though it is connected well has been solved .
7. The new play store app has been installed in advance for popular demands , also , the previous one will be reserved in your tv box .
8.The Beelink file browser and the music player have been updated well .

Thinking of getting one now but the price is nearing RM300 nowadays
