Just replaced my Asus RT-N56U with a new Asus RT-AC1200G+ router today... As the Wi-Fi speed is very slow on the old router...

Did some tests earlier... Can smoothly stream torrent movies using Showbox, play 1080p YouTube videos, etc...

Colors is much more vibrant than the miniMXiii due to HDR function in Android 6.0...

Tested on heavy/high bit rate files? How is it? Have you tested it with wireless keyboard/mouse combo?

My current android box is getting old, doesn't support h.265 and whole system lag when using it with a wireless keyboard/mouse after an hour. Still looking for a replacement.

Alright, just saw the review on youtube... it seems it's able to play all kinds of file except that particular file format in 4k. Any overheating issues? Like watching a 2-3 hours movie and then do other things on the box?

Hi,

Sorry for my silly question as this is the first time for me to try to get something directly from China.

Could you share some simple guide to buy from this website as well as what to consider when buying from this kind of website?

Should the device received DoA, what do I need to do to get it replaced.

Do share any other thing that you think a newbie like me would need to know.

Thank you in advance.

First register a paypal account and link to your credit card.

Regarding DOA and warranty, read the below:
http://www.gearbest.com/about/warranty-and-return.html

Also ask them to use Kerry Express to ship as Kerry Express will take 7 days to reach your place compared to others' 4 weeks...

Thanks for the reply.

1) So I can't pay directly using my credit card? Instead I need to use paypal for the payment purposes?

2) I can't seem to find option for Kerry Express. They only have:

a) Unregistered Air Mail 15 - 30 business days
b) Registered Air Mail 15 - 30 business days
c) Priority Line 7 - 15 business days
d) Expedited Shipping 3 - 7 business days

I'm using GT1 too. Noticed a few issues:

1) Watching online streaming movies (eg. Using Exodus) sometimes can be choppy. I'm using wired LAN and using Time 100Mbps. Shouldn't be bandwidth issue.

2) H.265 files are soft and fuzzy in Kodi. Like very bad antialiasing. Other format seems ok. Video quality with Kodi 16.1 with amcodec is much better, but whenever amcodec is selected, kodi keep crashing. Upgraded Kodi to v17. No more amcodec. So video quality for h.265 becomes bad.

3) Initially I didn't notice my GT1 has dark scene problem until I played some really dark scene movies, the picture was dark and can't see much details. Read in beelink forum that a temporary workaround is to play any 4k video first, then try play back the dark scene video again. It becomes brighter.

4) Touch wood. So far I didn't experience any green screen issue. I guess that depends on TV and HDMI port.

I have updated the firmware to the latest version (104_MO) via OTA. What firmware version are you on now?

*
1) I used Showbox, Popcorn Time and Terrarium TV more than Exodus. But no issue with AzDrama in Kodi.
2) I haven't played with these video files yet. Still on Kodi v16.
3) I have that but it's gone since I change my TV's color mode to Auto.
4) Same no green screen.

I can't remember which firmware version now but I read there will be a new version out next week.

after almost 2 weeks using GT1

1. when playing movies in Kodi, i can see the green flash in like 1,2 times during playing like 2 hours movie

2. Dark scene very dark, i need to change setting in TV to make it vivid, but still looks dark

3. the remote is suck, but still ok for normal navigation, will buy air mouse

4. i play 4k video sample file from shared folder within my network using cable, not smooth at all, perhaps i need to play directly via usb or sd card, or use Cat 6 cable to utilization 1 gigabit internal network.

5. love the small box, but its quite hot after sometime

6. i perform an OTA update last night, after reboot, the language change to Chinese, luckily i can remember the steps based on the icon, so i turn back to English. However, somehow, it keeps changing back to Chinese if i reboot the box. So, keep changing and no rebooting the box for now.

7. not much utilization on the box except watching Kodi. Any idea what more can i do? like games, what kind of games that is good play in TV and any controller that is working with GT1 can suggest?

thats is for now, if i have more comments, i will add

There is a new OTA update 2 days ago that fixed the dark screen and green flicker but cannot shutdown the box. Beelink have stop that OTA and is fixing new OTA update.

I'm using the Mele F10 Deluxe remote control...

For me, the box feels warm after a few hours on Kodi... I've only been using Kodi, Youtube, Showbox, Terrarium TV only... No games or play files from USB...

You can get any bluetooth gamepad like the Xiaomi BT gamepad, can work with the GT1...

Never encounter the chinese language after firmware update.

I've updated mine to the latest firmware and I don't have the language issue as first boot after it asked me to choose the language.
No errors with the launcher also after update.

Play store no problems. I didn't use Chrome as the box is mainly used for movies and series...

Anyone tried TVStock firmware from Magedanz?

http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-suppor...-android-tv-7-1

From the description, this firmware is unroot. Maybe can get Astro on the Go and HyppTV working in this firmware?
