im considering either one of these . but more to w205 avatgarde (CKD)
may i know which are better in terms of overall aspects ? and i also did notice the w205 where the park/reverse/neutral options are located on the right hand signal shifter. would that be dangerous to drive if accidentally engaged thinking it was a signal shift?
any advice will be much appreciated tq!

BMW has 5 years maintenance included. But after this expires as it is more expensive to maintain than a Merc. The CKD BMWs are noted for poor built quality giving problems associated more with Protons than a luxury car. I would go for the W205 as a better built car.

its still not safe i believe .. as we tend to brake before signalling at times . if we're driving halfway and accidentally swtiched into reverse or park mode , i dont know what would happen

i think its a no brainer , when it comes to comparing both . my own concern is the safety features and engine performance .yes everyone would say bmw performs better, but is it a big difference as if it can smoke a w205 easily? have u tested both cars yet?

Accidentally shift to N, maybe.

But now days transmission will most likely block you from shifting into R without stopping completely.

sorry ,i mean ,does the ckd versions of both brands are lousy as compared to cbu?
i heard of ckd being better of resale values because of its easier accessible parts and reliable plus its made to suit our weather. but which ckd brands does a better job?

Actually all cars have issues even the most expensive ones in the world smile.gif nothing is perfect and I think the first thing we should do is decide what we prefer rather than asking others. After that, ask about the reliability, common issues and if it's nothing really worrying, go buy the car.

Haha seriously you need a test drive to get the feeling of both cars, all cars eventually for issue but you get warranty.

Service wise W205 is expensive if you dont bugged your SA for service vouchers.
F30 get 5 years included which is good.

Interior wise W205 is much better, handling wise F30 is much better. It really depends what you focus and need really.

Actually that's the worse way to sell something in today's world smile.gif the salesman is using the wrong strategy obviously and I feel they should share what differentiates them against competitors rather than talking bad or bashing.

Reality of life, every car manufacturer has their own problems. It's a matter of how severe and if it's something we can accept if we buy.

BMW is now like VW, they throw prices like mad so when new car price doesn't have control, it affects the used ones as well smile.gif however, 2016 car at RM 150k sounds quite impossible. A 2015 316i; maybe?

Yes, intentionally misstating the year. Usually +1 year to the date of manufacture. When callers ask, "Oh....it's a mistake!"

having same issue...f30 vs w205..end up waiting for money to grow on the tree..
handling-f30 have a sporty handling and road grip but i cant feel any road respond on w205 but its comfort level is superb
build quality-w205 as f30 really disappoint me...even for a test drive car have a kiok2 sound..bad sound proofing and wind noise is not acceptable

the rest..malas to type

never test drive the f30 but i think its not wise to go for f30 bcus its too common on the road dy.plus resale value is ridiculous.

both are good cars but different feel. F30 interior is ridiculously plain jane boring for such a car. Then again, it is a BMW and they've been doing that for who knows how long. W205 interior is impressive in its price range. Regarding CKD quality, people complain all the time. Even if you watch reviews overseas, their CBU cars sometimes have rattling noises and other issues as well. Regarding which company builds the best CKD cars, I reckon it is Volvo and Mercedes. BMW has had their quality problems for a long time not only for CKD cars. Perhaps wait for new Audi A4 B9?

it really depends on personal tastes. c class will be the safe choice if you are looking for the best resale value. BMW resale value is worse than merc but the 5 year maintenance is really attractive. audi is the outside choice, interior is very avantgarde but exterior very conservative. it will be the newest car among the 3 though.

by the way, news just came in today. 306 hp!
