i didn't check but driving from munich to interlaken isn't it taking half of your day?
Max 5 hour travel according to viamichelin. Collect my rental car at 8am..should be able to reach Interlaken by 17:00 after a brief stop at Vaduz (liechtenstein) and Lucern..
Other than arrival / departing country, where else in shengen countries can we get our passport stamped?
Let say i drive to swiss will there be any immigration check or office so that i can get my passport stamp.
I took bus from Munich to Zurich, when crossing border there was checking post beside the highway. The bus stopped aside and let the officer to board and they did checked the passport. But they didnt stampped anything on my passport, just need to show to them that's all.
sifus - should i take a full tour or DIY for Switzerland? Im eyeing Apple's STUNNING SWITZERLAND for about 15k per pax (10 Days 7 nights) If anyone took this particular tour or taking it, please chime in. Thanks in advance

Hi guys, I'm planning to spend around 2 weeks in Europe later from July. As this will be my first family trip to Europe, may I ask if anyone can share an itinerary or suggest one? and if you have a tour company that you can recommend?
Thinking to start from Switzerland(or maybe Italy) and making my way to London and visiting Paris and Amsterdam along the way.
Italy - Florence, Pisa, Sienna, Lake Como, Rome
Switzerland - maybe Zermatt, Vengen and try ski over there? There is a train that can go straight up to the peak of not mistaken.
Paris - Lourve, Eiffel, Champs-Elysees, Sienna River, Shopping
London - just because.
Also not sure if I should go via tours or free and easy. I myself used to travel as I work overseas all the time and I did solo vacation a lot. But for a family trip, this would be a first in Europe with my wife and a 3 years old.
I'm actually working in Tallin right now and would be awesome if the trip date is close so can just bring my wife here and save some money but unfortunately I'm due to go back home end of June.

If got budget and lazy to plan, then take tour.
If on limited budget, then diy backpack is the way.

DIY needs more planning, particularly around transport. But on the flip side you have a lot more flexibility.
For example when you go Jungfrau area. Going up to Jungfraujoch is best when the weather is clear. With a DIY trip you can - for example - base yourself somewhere in the villages for 3 or 4 days, then if the weather's good go up to the top, if no good go to Bern or some other nearby area.
Anyway SIC with you my last year DIY summer trip for some ideas.
Wow, 30 days for 15k? That's insane. I wanna try this someday. My only issue is the extreme cold in some countries there. I'm really bad with cold weather. Took some research on best clothign for extreme cold weather and I think even what I found in this article for clothes in extreme winter wouldn't be enough. I might just layer and layer clothes, which can be difficult for a backpacker! There would be tons of fees for baggages just for my coats.
Like i mentioned before, u need a base layer, a down/padded jacket and a good wind breaker. Those u normally find in market can keep u warm but most of it lack in blocking the wind. Unless u go for those high end winter jacket which will normally cost your arm and leg...
Hi guys, i am planning on travelling to London and Paris, sometime in September. Any travel agency that you can recommend? since it is first time for me, would be better if taking all in package as I will be travelling with kids. will be travelling for around 8-9 days max ( the only leave i can applied off work )
some that i surveyed around the net,
i. Sri Sutra ( ground package only ) ii. Golden Tropics ( Ground + Flights ) quite a good deal. Not sure how trustable. iii. Apple Vacation ( all in package ) but missing London. Only europe. iv. Sedunia Travel ( Ground package only )

you have to see where tour group is going to bring you throughout the whole journey. also, with 15k you can easily stay more than 10 days
Any ground tour package from reliable European operator for Zurich? Want to see what they offer...is ground tour significantly more expensive than DIY?
