Agree that we cannot solely blame Rooney whenever we lost because as i said earlier there are many deadwoods in the team need clean up. However, Rooney is definitely one of them. Is been many season the problem keep repeating.. he is one of the main problem.
we definitely need winger both side, dm and right back.
If mikhi not playing no.10, then we need a better no.10 too.

When some of the people here is complaining about rooney haters here are bias and blaming him for his bad performance.. they need to realise they themselves are bias too by saying the team lost too even rooney did not play?
Not sure if they ever notice a lot of the players playing in the europa game was their 1st official game? and rooney was rested that game while the likes of baily,pogba,rasford and zlatan had all play 3 games in a week. This should not be an excuse to rooney's bad performance against watford as he was rested midweek!

In the season when he played as a no.9 and didnt get enough goals, rooney's fans are blaming the manager for not playing him as no.10..Their reasoning is thats his best position... then his position was changed to no.10.. performance still not good, then people says he is better as a deep lying midfielder... the cycle just keep repeating... he will keep getting the chances to play.

While the likes of kagawa, mata and mhiki just kept getting played out of position or not being played at all, people instantly say they are not good enough to play in epl..

I'm sure this is a forum everyone can express their views as long as they don't break the rules... not sure why criticism against a bad performer in our team is not allowed by some.

There are a few problems in the team that need to be tackled in order to move the team forward, Rooney's situation is definitely one of them.

Don't tell me we keep changing manager, but we don't change the captain although he has past his best time. Why is he untouchable (or even cannot be criticized)?

Pogba is never good at defensive duty - see France during Euro... if Mourinho wants to build a team around him, the first name that needs to be dropped is Rooney, and no doubt we also need a better DM.

Just ask ourselves an honest question, is Rooney among the top 10 premier league players currently?

Other Problems:
1) We have no proper wingers. If we want to play 4-2-3-1, Martial/Mata etc is not good enough as our wingers. They are not winger!
2) When we play Martial/Mata as wingers, they always drift in center and causing the team shape to be very narrow. This become too one dimensional. We actually rely on our full back to burst forward to provide the width.... this is the problem because our full back is not good enough.... Valencia is never a good winger nowadays ... don't even mention RB...
3) We have all the slow players playing together... from Zlatan, Rooney, Mata to Fellaini... no wonder we have no pace..
4) No link up play from Defense to Attack... Why ? Because Pogba is stuck in defensive role.. Fellaini is too slow to mark pacey players... and Rooney with his backward passes/ horrible ball control..
5) Mourinho wants specialist in every position... the problem is many of our current starting 11 are not specialist in the position they are currently playing! From No.10 to wingers to DM to fullback!

Too bad some people don't see this problem is inter-related.. anyway this problem has been started since 3-4 seasons ago till now.

It was RVP who played well and help us to get the title.. Rooney wasn't good that season, there is even question being asked why Kagawa was being played on the left to accommodate him.. yet he still asked for a transfer

If this is true, they are really embarrassing... I'm fully behind Mourinho on this one. If you play horrible then man up and face it, don't know why nowadays footballers are bigger than the club now...
All the deadwood, especially the old guards need to be cleared up to move the club forward.
