i watched the game live. it reminded me of one of those boring LVG matches, except that we dont get to retain the ball lol.
rashford was totally isolated upfront. always a disgruntled figure when the rest of the team were not pressing for the ball. Pogba's position was too deep at the back despite the fact that he is supposedly the attacking midfielder in the formation given. Goes to show that Pogba is not an attacking midfielder, but rather a box to box midfielder that likes to attack as much as to defend. which is why i felt that we actually missed rooney's presence upfront just behind the sole striker. so most of the time rashford's the only one pressing upfront whereas the rest were holding their lines at the middle of the pitch. darmian n rojo, while defensively doing okay (in the sense that they can tackle n intercept balls), their lack of pace really hurts the team's offensive move. this season mourinho relies heavily on shaw n valencia's pace to go forward in the flanks. so whenever darmian n rojo go forward, our defense is exposed to counter attacks. really hard to see either of them playing again for mourinho except in carling cup (not sure what the cup competition is called right now lol) n maybe in future europa leagues. overall it was a poor game for every players. no one stood out. not even the substitutes, maybe except for ibra. he came on, n immediately our offensive focal point is on him. but by then, it was too late n we had the wrong players for some of the positions. |

the players r definitely not clicking.
lots of poor passing. mourinho needs to sort their passing games. some of them cant even complete simple short passes. IMO, i think it would be better for mourinho to play carrick instead of fellaini. sure, fellaini has the physical presence n is vital during defending set pieces, but offensively speaking, carrick can control the tempo of the game n is a better passer. another alternative is schweinsteiger, but yea, thats not gonna happen lol. |

Classic mourinho tactic. Not necessarily parking the bus as our players were doing a lot of works with high pressure on liverpool players.
Not exactly an entertaining game, but a point away n especially against a rival is a positive point for us. |

we only made 1 sub with 20 mins to go (rooney for rashford) n then luke shaw for young almost at extra time.
if mou wanted to go for a win, he would have subbed in martial for young or rooney for either one of the CM/CDM. yea pretty sure mou is satisfied with the draw. got to stop the rot after a poor form in the last 5 matches or so. |
