New thread rclxm9.gif

Saw the match a little before deciding to sleep. Good work, Hazard and Kante MOTM for me. Mose is nearly there too, keep improving from match to match. I am thinking we should start introduce Aina into the game, especially when we have the match under wrap by half time.

i think is blessing in disguise. haha. Rmb Nainggolan? We wanted him at first, offered 40M I think, Roma wanted more, lucky we didn't meet the demand and go for Kante instead.

Overpriced players we have nowadays on the market. Either they dont want people buy or they want more money.

No wonder Conte want go holiday, so stressed up. His primary targets unavailable or overpriced, his secondary targets more or less the same.

This news suddenly come out. Kante rejected Mou due to Conte persuasion! smile.gif
Mou called Kante up but failed to convince him to join MU.

N’Golo Kante reveals rare immunity to Jose Mourinho’s powers of seduction

Antonio Conte project >> Jose Mourinho phone call
By David Pasztor @D_Peezy Sep 2, 2016, 3:45a

There are few things more powerful in the world than a phone call from Jose Mourinho. Kurt Zouma and Cesc Fàbregas could certainly attest to it, and they’re hardly alone. While last season’s struggles may have taken some of the shine off of it, it’s undoubtedly still a weapon of fearsome power, and when combined with the lustre and spending power of a Manchester United, it’s basically unstoppable. It can even move the Eiffel Tower Paul Pogba!

There is, however, one man. He’s not a very big man. Not at first sight anyway. One man who has stared the Mourinho Phone Call in its face and has lived to tell the tale. Tell me of your homeworld, N’Golo.

“It was amazing to have Mourinho call me, even though I'd been warned before how he would appeal to me. I listened to his arguments about why I should move to United.”

“But at that time I was hesitant between staying at Leicester or leaving for Chelsea. My discussions with them were already well underway. But when I spoke, I had a good feeling with Conte."

-N’Golo Kanté; source: Sky
We had already known that Conte was a huge reason behind Kante leaving the champions (and Champions League football) for the promise of a mid-table club looking to rediscover the glories of a non-forgotten recent past. But knowing that he rejected the evil empire in the process just makes the excellent start to his Chelsea career all that much sweeter.

I agree Fab should enter in early. Our team lack creativity. When we led 1 goal, it was not safe yet we need score more goals.

Chelsea forced to wait over John Terry injury

Chelsea will have to wait another 24 hours to learn whether captain John Terry will be fit for Friday night's match against Liverpool and time is running out.

Terry suffered an ankle injury at the end of Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday and was forced to leave the Liberty Stadium on crutches.

Agree with Moses. He still improving, his shooting not yet up to mark but he doing good in his growth. He can shield the ball and hold it well.

QUOTE(Akmall540 @ Sep 13 2016, 10:00 AM)
imo, with matic and kante as double pivot is too much. by using this system, the creativity is on the oscar shoulder alone.

now with fabregas replacing matic, oscar could do his job which is box to box midfielder. same as lampard before this. arrive late at opponent penalty box.

We are in dire need of creativity at the middle of the park. And we need to capitalise on the set pieces. Game can be won if we can benefit from the set pieces.

plus, cortouis need to step up. he shouldnt be too comfortable as begovic for me is too good to be a backup gk.
*
We seems to lack creativity in the middle of the park. We only have Fab, reminded me of Fabuloso advertisement tongue.gif

After Fab, we only have Hazard? He very good in tricking opponents but I see like one of us here, during this match his Yokohama tyre puncture before match end. His battery low.
Fitness problem or what, but I feel Conte is trying to get the best out of all our players. console.gif

And with our setpieces keep failing, I saw we failed 1 corner execution during this latest match. With Willian off form during free kick, well what can we do to improve setpieces? confused.gif

Yes, Tibo Kortua gotta improve or else we need rotate him out when his form drop. But really cant blame him much, see below.

Most shocking is tibo kortua rating...

Even higher than hazard.....

In chelsea meh...

I didnt recall him saving any spectacular shots
*
Kortua recently not performing well. Cant blame him of coz, his defense in front of him so bad.

Cahill really need improve his touch, he took too long time to distribute the ball out of danger area. Now we got at least Luis and the new defender to push our current defenders in training and match hmm.gif

What Diegoal says:

As legend has it, upon first showing up at Chelsea, Diego Costa turned to the rest of the dressing room and said “I go into battle; you come with me”. flex.gif flex.gif

"My mindset is always to be victorious, to win the match. When we go to the pitch, that’s all we want to do – we want to win – and when the game finishes, if you win, you go home happy."

"If I lose a game, it’s a different frame of mind when I finish the match – I go home and I feel upset. So you always have to know that you are going to leave everything on the pitch, every drop of sweat, to help the team win the game."

Falcao really sigh brows.gif

Hypocritical Monaco criticise Chelsea, Manchester United over Falcao

Once considered one of the best footballers in the world, Radamel Falcao's downfall was as swift as it was seemingly permanent. Since the fateful ACL injury suffered in his first season at AS Monaco, the Colombian striker had only played about 2000 minutes of club football across two and a half years.

Falcao’s path to recovery included season-long loans to Manchester United and Chelsea; he failed to impress at either, finding himself on the bench due to poor performances or in the treatment due to continuing injury issues. At Chelsea last season, he barely managed about 350 minutes in twelve appearances (two starts).

Since Monaco were unable to find another foolish club to help take on Falcao’s wages this summer, El Tigre’s back in the principality and hoping to find a few goals still. So far so good, as he scored in two of his first three appearances. In fact, those goals were such confidence-inspiring goals that Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev thought it wise to make the following comments.

"Both clubs in England failed to relaunch him. I don't know whether Manchester United and Chelsea did not have the patience or the desire to do that but I am quite sure this year we will see Falcao at his previous best."

"He is the same Falcao as he ever. We've seen that in pre-season. He scores goals, he's there and he is motivated, we are motivated and I think this will be his year."

"You have to be patient but the big clubs have other topics on their agenda. If you sign a player of this magnitude after a big injury it takes time and games to get him back into shape."

"This is what we will do and what Manchester United and Chelsea didn't do, failed to do or didn't want to do. We all see the qualities are there and it is a matter of time. Monaco will make every effort and you will see a very different Falcao this season to the one you saw in England."

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Sep 26 2016, 07:16 PM)
So anyway, just wanted to wait a few hours before giving my thoughts. I dont think there's any doubt we're in a bad patch but to be fair its still early in the season and those previous victories (although last minute, etc) at least means we're able to string some good wins together, even against decent opposition.

What we need to address is the fact that we've already far exceeded our quota for absolutely bloody hilarious comical goals this season, and its all down to our so called senior defender(s). I'd suggest quickly getting zouma back into the team once he's fit,and just make a courtesy call to christensen. tell him we desperately need him for the coming season, so please don't pull a 'courtois' by spouting rubbish to the media and we’ll give you a handsome contract when you return. (inserting a £70 million release clause while we're at it.)

Another thing we need to look at is the lack of leadership in that squad. When that first goal went in,collectively our heads dropped and nobody really had that fire in their bellies to rally everyone else. Conte needs to strip that vice captaincy off ivanovic, pronto. If anything diego deserves it more through his performance and personality. When your vice captain is constantly making poor crosses and silly mistakes, everyone else will be silently shaking their heads and above all, I don't think I observed Iva actually trying to get any sort of message to the team? Not even once? Let's stop this seniority nonsense because its making things worse imo.The fact that we still need to rely solely on a 35 year old JT who's on his last legs is just sad. Conte needs to install our future leaders a.s.a.p.

Well let's try and look for some positives from that train wreck, shall we? For starters we kept a clean sheet in the second half. Although they had like two semi clear cut chances, one of it via walcott, courtois saved well (for a change, lol) and we were pouring forward trying to reduce the deficit anyway. Somehow we still managed two great chances via pedro (what a tackle from bellerin) and michy (should've buried that).  I also liked how conte just decided to throw in alonso and use our fullbacks properly. Almost immediately we looked more dangerous and both of them proved how good early crosses can instantly change our attacking dynamic. I'm personally sick and tired of watching azpi having to cut back on to his stronger foot before crossing the damn ball. It slows down our attack and gives defenders a chance to make a tackle. It worked for about a season and a half. Let's just move on from that.

So overall, let's not get too downbeat about the result,as pool and arsenal are on top form at the moment. Crazy as it sounds, we just have to look at our previous game for a decent performance and comeback, albeit against leicester's somewhat second string team. No doubt comical defending was still there, but at least we managed a victory.

I still think once we sort out the defence we will look a hundred times better, in all areas of the pitch. That day won't be long now as zouma nears full fitness and conte slowly introduces alonso to the first team, while Iva / cahill / both get accustomed to the bench. Iva did well deceiving us for a couple of games in the league but I think conte has had enough. Next match couldn't come soon enough!
*
Good finding.

For me, here's my opinion.

Conte should employ much more offensive strategy. Our defence is too weak to utilize counter attack. We should be looking at "attack, attack" tactic. Batman and Conte should be our focus of attack along with our midfield creativity in the form of Fab, Oscar(Well, give him some chance here). Those players who not performing well or made mistake(like Cahill), should be rested for 1 match. Put on Alonso as Cahill replacement. Put in Moses or Zouma in midfield, let Kante do the dirty work(tackle).

2nd that. But sometimes it's frustrating to see when we can try to make a pass but instead we back pass. Need to sort the defense asap. If we can deliver ball to costa, might as well do like what manson did, shoot outside the box

Lucky Kortua alert to keep out Hull effort outside the box... Otherwise I scare to think what will happen.
