Credit where its due mate. This is one of those few games where he actually looked better than azpi. Sounds crazy right? But that's what happened. I think the latter looked leggy and was beaten by his man for too easily.

Most importantly,Iva's cross was what lead to our opening goal when it caused havoc in their box,and his powerful shot lead to our equaliser! Very good game by the serbian today,imo.

I'm not saying that Cesc is no good, I was stating the reason why he look standout when he came in..

He will deliver if he start the game no doubt about it, but it wont be as what we've seen in the last 15 mins.

and you are blind if you say that Matic and Oscar didn't do much in this game.

yeahh I know, losing points is sucked, but early in the season..and silly mistakes, give them a chance.

but the main reason why I think Cesc cant really start unless we fix our defence.

Cesc is a pin point passer, ala Pirlo. He wont do the defensive duties as much as Matic and Kante.

Matic and Kate needed to protect the old back four.

That is why the signing of Alonso and Luiz will rejuvenate our back four and we can afford to play Cesc in place of Matic.

Just like Conte's sub.

not much contribution imo. hazard is the one that do all the running and creating chances. the only time oscar contribute is when he assist the first goal. matic play too high up for a defensive midfielder. he even play higher than costa once. which is a waste.

my original point was, Cesc look better and effective because he came in late in the game, opponent players were tired to close down giving him more time on the ball to deliver great passes. That is all.

oscar and matic was all over the pitch, matic was not defensive midfielder, his role is box-to box with a good defensive skill. to win ball higher in the pitch and yes box to box sometimes play higher than striker, ie Lampard.

I actually disagreed with the oscar sub. Willian off should've probably happened earlier though. Matic off is understandable as well. Dropped points but perhaps a good kick up our arses before the liverpool match. Would love to see fab starting.

Perhaps Iva in for JT in the middle and alonso going to the left, with azpi on his natural side?
